Pros

The cruise perks were nice, but that's about all.

Cons

The environment was very tense and very pressured. People did not get along and frequently argued. There was finger pointing accusing each other of making errors. Lots of backstabbing and bullying. There are bad apples in management. There is not an open door for employees to talk. If you speak up you will lose your job. Any whistle blower will be fired. Management wants to hire people with experience but doesn't value what you suggest. The management treats the processing clerks like children and requires permission for everything you do. You cannot make any decisions based on your experience and knowledge.

Pros

It's close to home. They give me money for showing up and doing nothing. Sometimes there's free burgers or ice cream in the parking lot.

Cons

Style over substance. Management cares more about politics and appearance than results. I've never seen more ego and ignorance in the same place at the same time.

Pros

Vacation and Sick Pay, employee only fair rates. Many tools to learn about cruise industry. Some cool team members. Great work hours. Managers come up with small rewards such as free food as a thank you for working hard. Offers for overtime on some Saturdays. Coffee machines, tea, ice water and hot chocolate on every floor. Lunchroom fantastic given short allotment of time for lunch.

Cons

"Bonus" is in lieu of actually paying sales commissions, and is therefore an optional monthly payment, taxed at a bonus rate, paid following month, and instead of being part of compensation. Managers play favorites, especially with new hires. Initial training period extended which leads to delay in "Bonus", up to 4 months. Travel discounts and employee free cruise almost non-existent. Must have time pre-approved & valid vacation time in order to utilize either employee free cruise and/or paid cruise w/discount. After merger w/other brands, PCL employees take back seat to use their benefits, on waitlist until the last minute. Need more marketing tools geared towards Cruise Vacation Planners. Very difficult to compete with travel agencies whilst not having the same tools. Telemarketing daily by calling/sending out required emails instead of marketing department mass sendings. High turnover position, cannot make friends as many leave or move positions after required one year, constant battle w/other colleagues to keep clients or with other teams to make the initial sale. Too many rules and monitoring what counts towards required minimum. High unreachable goals unless assigned proper guests. Rules/benefits not clearly provided in writing and change as needed.
