Pros

Having been with Princess for several years, I have had many opportunities for advancement. Working within Supply Chain, we are in a unique position to work with multiple "internal customers" to impact the experience our passengers have on their vacations. If you've ever been on a cruise, you can't help but be impressed what "customer service" means on a Princess vessel. To be able to work closely with the crew on one of our vessels to make it possible, makes the work that we do that much more rewarding. Going home at the end of the day, you can really know you've made a difference. The company also offers competitive benefits, such as tuition reimbursement, a 9/80 schedule, and cruising benefits. The company as a whole strives to improve employee job satisfaction, educational and career goals, as well as addressing physical wellness for both shoreside and shipboard staff.

Cons

As the company strives to minimize costs, employees face smaller work spaces, heavier workload, and smaller yearly merit increases, all of which can wear down the morale of even the most dedicated staff. Large scale efforts in the company are often lost in the day to day reality of too much to do.

Pros

1.) 9-80 Flexible Work Schedule: You are permitted to choose which day you would prefer to have off (every other Monday or Friday), and instead work a 9 hour work day in lieu of a standard 8 hour day. 2.) Travel Benefits: Utilizing your employee travel privledges, you are permitted to select one cruise a year subject to availability, which you can then enjoy from as little as $15 per person, per day! 3.) Work location: Princess is located in Santa Clartia, CA, an affluent suburb about 20 mins North of Los Angeles, CA. There are several great dining and shopping areas within walking distance from the office. 4.) Colleagues: Many talented and experience colleagues. Many of whom have been with the company for decades and are more than willing to provide on the job training to new hires if asked. 5.) Employee Recognition: The C.R.U.IS.E. program and the "World of Thanks" postcard are great ways to recognize outstanding employees and their contributions.

Cons

1.) Pay: Not the same pay you would expect for comprable work in another industry, especially in California. However the company does still offer a bonus program, although for middle managers and below, it is minimal ($500-$1000). 2.) Work Load: Because of the nature of the business, work comes in waves. You alternate between periods of being extremely busy and periods where there is little to do. 3.) Training: Systems and technical training need a lot of improvement!!! 4.) Databases and the availability of data: The cruise industry is a fairly new business in that it has only recently become much more analytical and data driven with a heavy emphasis on the bottom line. As a result, data systems are still struggling to catch up with the new business requirements and growth which can be frustrating. Additionally, because there are so many people who have been with the company for so long, many of them are not willing to step out of their comfort zone and try new methods and systems. 5.) Lack of growth organically: Virtually no opportunity for career advancement once you're at the Senior Analyst/Middle Manager level.

Pros

Travel perks are nice but not the best.

Cons

Executive leadership is the worst. They have no idea how to run a business nor care about their employees. The politics amongst the departments is toxic and the expectation to work or be available 24/7 leaves you with no work life balance
