Pros

insurance right away, connections in office setting, not a huge list of to do’s throughout the day.

Cons

Cons- -This place starts off with a week long training course taught by a someone that seems to have a big influence in the company- intimidating, and not welcoming. During the training week there are people training us that cusses during the whole training and it’s virtual. Not a super welcoming environment early on. Side note- the training class consists of just someone reading the same sentence over and over for people to physically write it down on paper. They expect over 215 dials a day, lie to gatekeepers to get to the decision maker (which 80% of the time you will never reach them) there is no integrity, as we aren’t allowed to even mention where we are calling from. The pay is 50k and read further for the “commission” scam -This company wants you to show up for work around 30 minutes early and stay late without being on the clock - this is to “look good for the upper management” and to “look up contact info for decision makers” They rely heavily on the culture that “you want to impress the higher ups” which are people who are not friendly or welcoming in meetings that essentially are intimidating. -The training course was sub par- Now keep in mind this strategy was not built from any credibility or legit sales strategies or proven methods- just a sales rep that has been working here for quite some time. -They advised me to forget all of my heavily learned sales skills and strategies, in hopes of changing to do their sales process which is just a process that consists of arguing with the gate keeper to get to the owner(maybe), and then aggressively question the owner if he wants to sign up for a printed publication- not get any type of credibility on the phone from them besides a “yes” and proper email address. This is a typical telemarketer position and I don’t advise any seasoned sales reps to consider this route. (Ps. You won’t get any commission until you hit 100k in sales- and that number resets on the date from the year from when you started, so if you had 95k in sales - you won’t get on the list for any commission the next year until you hit 100k in sales again) -They also get very upset if you’re running late - even walking in less than a minute late Why are we looking up contacts we need to speak with during time we are not getting paid for? They also advise us to work during lunch to also find these contacts of the decision maker. -Overall this company has no culture uses fear tactics to motivate, and asks a-lot for the bare minimum. - there will never be an opportunity for you to move up with this company to further your career.

Pros

The salary, until it takes one week to realize the job is not worth it.

Cons

This is the biggest scam in New York City. You're not allowed to tell anyone where you're calling from or what the call is about. You're given "leads" for companies that haven't existed in 10+ years, or have never done any work in reference to what you're calling about. They basically make you harass people, which is what I was accused of doing from a few companies. The atmosphere is also terrible and filled with cliques of people that have been there for a while. The employees also yell what to say while in the middle of a pitch which doesn't help at all. MAKING COMMISSION IN THE FIRST YEAR IS IMPOSSIBLE. I would also assume based on what I saw, commission is only made by employees that have been there 5+ years. THESE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE from what I've experienced in New York City.

The above review could not be further from the truth. PSP Sports has been in business for nearly 50 years and works with the most prominent Professional Sports Teams and countless Colleges across the Country. It is doubtful the NFL or NBA for example, would partner with us for decades if we were some kind of scam, as you put it. Candidly, it is frustrating to have to respond to nonsense like this. All of our reps are given vetted leads. PSP Sports does not make you "harass people". If you were accused of harassing someone, it was because you did not do the job the way you were trained. On the other hand, you do have to work hard and make a lot of phone calls to speak with decision makers over the phone. We have many reps that have worked for us for years that enjoy the atmosphere in the office. We often receive feedback that the atmosphere is lively and competitive. Most of our folks love the cash incentives, contests, and trips we provide. Whomever wrote this blatantly false review should not assume that commission is only made by employees working 5 plus years. They are clearly someone who did not work here very long or they would know otherwise. We have many reps who earned upwards of $10,000 in commissions after working for us just over a year or so. If you come in for an interview, feel free to ask to speak to some of the reps, ask them how long they have worked for PSP? What commissions have they earned? Also, we could not be more transparent during the interview process about what the job entails. We intentionally have interviewees sit on the sales floor for a significant period so that they see first hand what our sales people do. We are constantly training our reps, and yes, after a few weeks on the phone we do additional training. Clearly, this person was overwhelmed and not able to handle it, and that's ok. It is a tough and demanding job, not for everyone, but for the people that work hard and succeed, you can have a great career at PSP and make a lot of money.

Pros

Location. I honestly can't think of any pros. The place is a prison. Would never recommend working there to anyone

Cons

Everything about the job. The management has no idea what they are doing. Everyone in the office looks miserable. This is the type of job you take if you don't have a college degree
