Pros

- The people on team and directly above were amazing people. - we got some commission for sales

Cons

- ELT is a mess. They let go the people that made it good and tolerable to work here. They made decisions that didn’t make sense. When asked about said decisions, there were a lot of deflections and “we can’t talk about it at this time”. - Gave pride in themselves for being transparent and caring about their people but there was no care and no transparency. - commission is capped despite efforts of working your butt off. - Recognition for inside sales never came from top and assumed it was only their outside sales that made all the money.

Not a place you want to join

Pros

I use to say the people and the mission, now maybe the pay?

Cons

Constant structural changes, no real strategy on how to grow, and management just can’t make a decision and stick to it. One day we are focused on hardware, then software, then back to hardware. They do not invest in resources and want to be scrappy while putting in so much red tape you can’t get anything done. Leaders are over orgs that they have no experience in. With the frequent restructuring this year and managements inability to instill confidence, the culture has tanked and it’s just not a place I can recommend anymore.

Pros

The EC role is a great way for teachers and instructional coaches looking to move into the Education Management/EdTech Industry. You will learn a lot about sales, software, and the EdTech industry. The EC team (and most people at the company) are great people!

Cons

The EC role requires at least 80% travel. Promethean Sales leadership enforced travel during the pandemic, which felt very unsafe. If you're ready and willing to travel Sunday night through Friday night, this is a good role for you, however, this lifestyle offers very little work-life balance. Even though ECs have an assigned territory, you may be asked to fly across the country for a day of training or a one hour product demonstration at the drop of a hat. The EC team has very little room for career growth. There are ECs and EC leadership, but nothing in between. Even after years with the company you will make the same or less than new ECs because of the lack of room for growth. EC territory changes yearly, which means your territory can double during your time at the company without a compensation increase.
