PCG is a growing company in a very tough industry. The hours are long and the project challenges are real. Travel can be awful. This is not a place for the timid or uninspired. It feels like just when the company is getting stablized something big happens in the country or world. Current economic pressures are challenging PCG and our clients like never before. It feels like just when you think it can't get worse for our clients ... it does. Everyone is expected to carry a heavier load and sometimes I worry if we can do it. Turn over is high, but is probably just average for the consulting industry. Old boys network at the top for sure ... but growing diversity in middle management. Health insurance costs are very high.

There is a lot of turnover. Many new college grads will see PCG as a place to get a couple years experience for their resume to land a better job. It’s no wonder. PCG compensation lags other consulting firms and if you are not involved with selling there is little opportunity for advancement. Support and operations work is undervalued. PCG has historically used staff from current clients for proposals in response to potential new sales. Unfortunately, this can hurt moral as staff is torn between the obligations to current clients and landing new business. Landing new business is the only way to get noticed. Communication with managers can be difficult. Often decisions are made without getting all the facts. There are a lot of tribal tensions. This leads to an uncooperative environment.
