Pros

Employees enjoy hotel discounts at the outlets and other company properties across the country; 401(k) plan; opportunities to move up at your property

Cons

Micro-management is at an all time high - managers are expected to complete numerous reports weekly and monthly that are tedious, redundant, and are never actually looked at by corporate. Managers feel as if they're constantly being tested and trying to be caught doing something incorrectly. Attitudes of upper management trickle down to the property level and leave a bad taste in employees' mouths. HR on the property does not take employees seriously and does not act as an advocate for employees. People would rather let things go than take it to HR. Communication is poor from upper management to managers to line associates. Mistakes are constantly made that could have been easily avoided if communication was a priority.

Pros

They mandatory "Care Rally's" where they raffle off prizes such as TV's, tablets and gift cards. The idea is nice but doesn't make up for the overwhelmingly negative experience they bring.

Cons

They took over the hotel and forced the entire sales team to start working 50 hour work week while only paying them for 40 hours. They stated that the money would be made back up in "your incentives", didn't amount to anything more than a $100 visa gift card. Their culture is to make you work more and when people leave (not just one or two) instead they force you to take up their additional responsibilities all while maintaining you don't go over on your hours with constant email notifications of your current time sheet because "we can't afford to pay you overtime". Forced majority of the hotel's staff to take PTO during Thanksgiving even though the majority didn't have PTO to spend because Pyramid had just taken over in October - most of the staff didn't receive full pay checks that week due to the forced shutdown. Five people have left the sales department since Pyramid has come in and they haven't hired anyone - yet they complain about missed calls and low room occupancy, we're understaffed folks. All in all Pyramid has proven to be the worst company I've ever worked for. They take care of their own - those who they brought in - and their actions show that they can care less about the people who've been at this hotel for YEARS. They've lost a lot of valuable knowledge both client and market wise by essentially running people into the ground. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT TAKE THE JOB. I PROMISE YOUR SANITY WILL THANK ME/YOU FOR IT.

Pros

- Good Benefits - Large portfolio of hotels - Care committee and Care rally with employee incentives. - Company is growing - Corporate training program

Cons

- Managers are not respected or valued - Focused on high revenue rather than guest experience. - High turn over with line level employees, often very short staffed. - A 9 to 5 culture with senior managers leaving younger managers without proper resources. Senior managers often inexperienced and no focus on training. - No focus on team building and collaborative hospitality culture. Very conservative. - Corporate management "open door policy" is nonexistent. - HR can not be trusted.
