Easy job

Pros

The job is very easy. I place orders for customers and give them information on tracking their orders. My supervisor is probably the best one I have ever had. The job is flex so I get to chose my schedule. I can work a few hours here and there as I please as long as I meet my 24 weekly hours. This job is perfect if you’re a stay at home parent or have a busy life and still need to make income.

Cons

You get extremely rude customers daily. They are very rude and nasty with their words for absolutely no reason especially if something is not in stock that they want or you simply ask them to repeat a item number or question they asked. They are mostly elderly customers and feel very privileged to talk to you the way that they do. I’ve cried on multiple occasions. If the job was not so convenient and fit perfect with my life as a single mother, I would not work there just because of the customers. I love the job, not the customers.

Pros

Your coworkers are amazing, because those are the only people you can rely on. You really build a strong team. Honestly, had my direct supervisor not been changed to an awful person I would've happily stayed at QVC for the rest of my life. Management makes a HUGE difference.

Cons

Pay, Direct Management, Time Off, Human Resources, Secondary Management, and Customers. After working there for 6 years I only made $16 an hour. My direct supervisor harassed and retaliated against me for 5 months, and was never reprimanded. I reached above and out for assistance and was told to get over it. Even after I quit I was called by HR and asked what about that 1 day made me quit, they refused to listen to me that it was not one day it was months of constant abuse. Your direct manager will never be there, he only showed up in the building for snacks when we had meetings. Now that it is work from home he shows up once a year if we are lucky, he was useless anyway. Required to put in all of our time off for the YEAR by January 15th, will be threatened with a corrective action if you complain that no time was approved, despite having 6 years of seniority. Told that complaining about (what was a legit system issue) was "UnFun and Negative". HR is no help, when you reach out you will be bounced around for a month because everyone gets vacation but you. Customers are allowed to give employees death threats, but if you complain you get told "Well, at least its not as bad as being on the phones." Don't even get me started about how the systems don't work, we can't issue refunds or exchanges, or even mail out return labels. But they can spend who knows how much on a new punch in system that won't even let you see your PTO balances or pay rates. They also lie about the 6 month step program for raises, been 7 months and low and behold we still have yet to receive the pathetic $0.50 raise,

Pros

MOST customers are friendly and enjoyable to help.

Cons

You have time restrictions to be on a call or you will be written up and eventually terminated. It is impossible to fully assist a customer in that time frame. Different PTOs are available (floating holidays, & comp days), but will not be approved to be used. If you're lucky, you'll go on a "wait list" for a computer to decide if you can use the day you earned. There's no support from supervisors to try to assist. They direct you right back to the system to request. God help you if your sick, because you'll acquire "points" for missing work and eventually be terminated.
