work-life balance can be hard to figure out with your schedule

- Leadership consistently fails to uphold the company's core values (which are actually impressive and talked about at every morning meeting) - High performing employees are overlooked, under-supported and under-recognized - Promises of growth opportunities are vacant and 9 times out of 10 go unfulfilled - Rampant micromanagement, suppressing creativity, stifling productivity and individuality - Raises are minimal and not reflective of performance-- top contributors receive same 'increases' as under-performers - Sale volume exceedingly prioritized over creativity and design integrity - Leadership lacks trust, transparency and alignment, creating confusion and low team morale. - Inappropriate leadership behavior handled poorly including personal boundary violations and unfair, unjust accusations - Health related time off is scrutinized even when ample PTO is available and used properly - Scheduling is inflexible, demanding and makes work-life balance nearly impossible

They screw with bonuses, merit increases, and pay. President and Directors don't understand people have families and lives outside of RH. They expect you to be on long conference calls at any time they decide to have one, answer emails within an hour even if you off and home. Give the delivery provider/Driver incentives but not Leaders and senior leaders that do all the work for the drivers to be successful.

Incompetent leadership, demoralizing touch base conversations that were unprofessional and highly hurtful, perpetually understaffed, full weekend availability is required, dress code standards are outdated and provide a platform for work related insecurity, borderline racial comments have been made to coworkers under the guise of "luxury," core values praise associates with a point of view however if it clashes with management they will act in a way that forces you out or slips you up in a way that gets you terminated, no 401K match, too much ego

The Values are both a pro and a con. The words themselves, are so inspiring you can find a million different takeaways. However, the company uses them as a sort of brainwashing. You read them daily, discuss and focus every morning around their learnings. These morning meetings happen daily for 30 minutes. RH also lives/thrives in a grey area. The job descriptions & interviews are so vague you are not 100% confident you know what you've signed up for or what your KPI is. Even when you ask for a KPI, it's an "all-in," do whatever the team or leadership asks of you and "you'll be fine" mentality. Some of what leadership says is not backed by actions and some are. It just depends on the leader, department, and situation. They say "feedback is a gift" but that's really just code for when you are given criticism take it with a smile, and do better. Feedback is supposed to be two ways, but with most of the leaders being with RH for decades, it's really not going to make a difference. P.S. To become leadership means to be a workaholic, be flexible with a job description changes outside of what you signed up for and you'll constantly hear "proud" stories of how everyone takes pay cuts, but they love what they do so it's fine. Wrong. Your pay should never be cut/docked for more work and no it is not something you should be proud to pressure others with.

Does not live their core values

Chaos reigns supreme, last minute changes, broken promises, late nights, high pressure, low reward. There are some major drama queens and bullies. Everything is tribal knowledge (learning CEO's personal tastes and preferences if you can get past his obnoxiousness), theres no authority on what is or isn’t in the product assortment, steep learning curve, outdated resources and technologies. Seating isn't ergonomic, it just looks pretty but gives lots of splinters. Toxic culture that glorifies being a workaholic and martyr. It's common to have a noon meeting that actually starts at 6 and ends at midnight, and you're expected to stay on campus for it. There's no opportunity for conditions to improve because one of the core values is "Love Us or Leave Us." Low pay, terrible benefits (no 401k matching, no service recognition, 10 vacation days a yr, often no bonus, no real HR department actually) Reviews happen randomly if at all & the process is a total joke (5 yes/no questions). Couldn't get out fast enough.
