We appreciate you taking the time to write this review and for sharing your experience with our Agency. Community Support Professionals provide invaluable support for individuals with developmental disabilities in our communities. Although it can be challenging, being an advocate for these individuals in an extremely rewarding career. We also want to thank you for your recommendation. Our training program is vital to our success but we will always look for ways to improve our efficiency so that Racker staff can spend the majority of their time focusing on what matters, the people they support.

Pros

Relationships you develop with co-workers, other departments, with the staff you support, and residents are what makes this job amazing! It was rewarding to see people grow- to celebrate the success of the residents, and to see staff flourish in their role.

Cons

Over the years things changed-the last two years were very tough. There is no work life balance. People became desperate to be able to find a better balance and so co-workers betrayed one another. It felt as though the Director of Residential turned a blind eye to the severity of what was going on; or else perhaps was just overwhelmed themselves. Was very hard to leave a place that fostered so much good in the beginning; but deteriorated as staffing issues arose and detrimental decisions were made by the exec team

We want to thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is apparent that you thought deeply about your message and care about our Mission and Vision. Racker takes your concerns very seriously and to ensure we improve as an organization, we need constant feedback from our staff members. In order to continue to support people with disabilities and their families to lead fulfilling lives, we recently focused our efforts into new strategic goals that we believe will address your concerns, especially the need for a work/life balance for our employees. In addition, we have recently hired our new Director of Residential and their Assistant Director. It is an effort to ensure our skilled staff can effectively support people with disabilities we are dedicated to creating and continuing to foster an organizational culture of belonging. We would very much like to continue this discourse, so if you’re open to discussing this further, please email us at feedback@racker.org. Thank you again.

Avoid - it has become a toxic workplace

Business Outlook

Pros

The clients and there are a few good people still around. Slowing disappearing as you can clearing see by the amount of openings.

Cons

Too many toxic people. Being led by an Executive Director that wants to rid of long term employees and his answer is to do their job himself. When the reality is that he is not qualified to do their jobs. There are no standard practices. Salaries are inconsistent and money is thrown at people when they do point this practice out. Dr. Racker was a wonderful woman and she would be devastated to see what this place has become. Staff leadership development is non-existent at this point. People are asked to falsify documentation.
