Pros

Benefits and Training programs--when its deemed that your allowed to progress forward...

Cons

Very high turnover rate >1000%. Love to gang up on hardworking employees and will use every excuse or method at their disposal to get you to quit. Unbelievable level of incompetence. What's worse they actually think they can outsmart you with their puke tactics. If your unfortunate to work with these charlatans---always stay sharp and ahead of their baloney..

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Decent PTO time.

Cons

Total dumpster fire of an operation based on the business they are in. Lack of resources at the branch level and poor support at the corporate level. The daily paperwork and metrics are ridiculous. No training program or protocol for any position. Lack of respect for employees or their time.

Bad management everywhere

Pros

Decent pay, fun co-workers, good benefits

Cons

No training, awful upper management only looking at their potential for bonuses. Branch has little or no actual decision making ability. You can't fire anyone even if they are incompetent or stealing from you. You have to send all your good equipment out to other branches and pay to get crap in from other places. Very very badly ran. Anyone that has any respect for themselves or any integrity won't last long here. All the good employees quit within 2 years. The ones that stay...... Well they are the problems.

Pros

Rain for Rent is a great company, I admittedly was a little concerned based on the reviews here. In my experience I have been more than satisfied with national, regional, and branch level management! I feel completely at home here and highly recommend a career at Rain for Rent. I am in the Rocky Mountain Region, so perhaps that can guide potential expectations for anyone interested. Benefits are good and competitive, potential to affect your income is great, training is exceptional. Everyone I deal with really cares for the company and are thankful for their jobs. I am very happy on many levels. I can see a clear path for professional development.

Cons

My base pay is low in regards to my cost of living and professional experience. HR process took too long (4 months). To address some of the other reviews: "you're on your own." To a certain extent this has been true for me. However, I feel like I was provided the tools to ask the right questions to get where I wanted to go. I am somewhat clear in my own personal objectives though. I can see how an employee could feel like they don't have the support, but you have to ask for it and utilize the many resources available to you. I have a great team to rely on with other salesman who have been very forthcoming with knowledge and time.

Pros

They have a good sales training program. I made several to the headquarters in Bakersfield for hands on training.

Cons

The oilfield in Vernal is tough if you aren't a local. A lot of family relationships and the good old boys network determine whether deals get done. The branch in Vernal has been whittled down to almost nothing.

Where good managers go to die

Pros

There are a few good folks in Bakersfield who really try to help the branches, but they are far outnumbered by arrogant, overpaid corporate hacks who treat branches like annoyances. Apparently it never occurred to these stiffs that their paychecks are paid by the sweat of the sales and operations people who toil 24/7 pumping sewage.

Cons

Garbage equipment, outdated IT systems, a horrible quote/CRM program, mountains of reports and paperwork, inadequate training at all levels, useless HR staff and policies, and the morally bankrupt Bakersfield clan mentioned above. It's no wonder branch management turnover is 30-50% per year. The managers who hang on typically worked their way up from installer or truck driver and don't know any better. Those who come from outside RFR quickly realize how much of a train wreck it is and quit or are forced out for not drinking the koolaid. My advice to anyone considering a managerial job in any RFR branch is KEEP LOOKING. YOU CAN DO BETTER.
