At ReGeneration Schools, we are committed to listening and continuous improvement. ReGeneration Schools is led by a Black woman who brings her lived experience to running a network of K-8 public schools that prepare students for success in college. Teachers create a learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and welcomed. Students are challenged by rigorous college-prep coursework that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. We also promote continuous learning among our staff members. Teachers receive on-the-job coaching to help them grow as they continue to support and challenge students.

Pros

Many students who need great teachers Lesson plans supplied

Cons

Zero teacher choice (teachers across different states expected to teach exact same lessons) Disrespect showed to teachers by admin (demeaning them in front of children) Does not use best educational practices Expectations are not developmentally appropriate for kids (no recess, just sit up straight with hands folded for 8+ hours a day)

ReGeneration prides itself on its rich, culturally competent curriculum aligned to the Common Core State Standards, on which the Illinois and Ohio state standards are both based. When standards differ between states, like social studies units on state history, we differentiate the materials for lessons. For example, we read "B is for Buckeye: An Ohio Alphabet" in Cincinnati and "L is for Lincoln: An Illinois Alphabet" in Chicago.
