Pros

- Compensation is very competitive for the industry. Benefits are good too, not many places can you get insurance for yourself and your pet.... - Free LaCroix and snacks - Working there makes you assess if you really want this kind of life and make changes if not. - I have seen people move up if they express they want to move to other depts, etc. Though be warned it won't be simply based on merit (see politics below). I've seen nepotism happen first hand. - If people do good work, they generally will get recognized (more like a "shout out") So if you place more value in that versus additional compensation, you'll like it. - They do have some top tier clients (I mean some BIG names).

Cons

- Hideous open plan office - if you need peace, quiet and privacy to work, you can forget it. You hear everyone's conversation and everyone can hear yours. You can hear the music that is obnoxiously played in the middle of the day. Rooms that actually afford some privacy are reverse only and they are never available. - I have never worked at a place so political in my life: Above said stupid open plan office allows you to be privy to everything. People getting yelled at by narcissistic senior management and c suite execs, the pathetic brownnosing that goes on when the CEO is in town. Think you're above it and just want to do your job? Nope. You get accused of "not caring" ostracized and told you need to play along because "that's the way we do things". - Good luck trying to enjoy the compensation. People regularly pull 10 -11 days at w2o group. The unlimited vacation days are smoke and mirrors to the fact that you will never take said vacation time. You get judged for taking it. The amount of people I saw replying to emails when they were on vacation or had to leave for personal emergencies but still being online was sad quite frankly. Decide you aren't going to be one of "those people", and actually decide to have a life outside the company? Again you are reprimanded. BTW they don't offer a work mobile or compensation for part of your data plan (unless you are a executive, director or other high position). I guess if you feel the "rat race" is a necessary part of life and want to toil your best years away, you could put up with it for the compensation.

Pros

There were some really wonderful people there. I'm hoping that these people help to change the company for the better.

Cons

Echoing other reviews, there is definitely a clicky environment built upon yes men/women. There is a lot of emphasis on "controlling" your own career. Jim constantly says "drive, don't be driven." But the company is unwilling to accept any new ideas/ways of doing things and the higher ups consist of long standing folks too set in their ways to accept anything new. From a day-to-day perspective, no one wants to admit they're doing something wrong. Process isn't a thing. If you're looking for anything to be standardized (contracts, forms, team structure, or even just your day-to-day schedule) look elsewhere. HR is useless, so expect to run into problems that will never be solved. Over the last ~1year or so, upper management has cultivated an environment of fear and frustration. Big brother is always watching...always. And the focus is on how much you can bill your clients, not the quality of the work you're producing. Over-servicing your clients is the norm and any attempt to adjust staffing will be shot down, I'll pretty much guarantee it. The CEO has mentioned, during multiple all hands meetings, that people not being at their desks after hours and/or early in the morning is an issue. Nevermind if the work is being done. Nevermind if you're staffed for those hours. Nevermind if the client is happy. Nevermind if you're thinking strategically for your client. If your butt is not in that seat at 7pm, it's a problem. Oh- and for all of those extra hours and weekends and all of the flack you'll get for not being at your desk, you'll get paid little to nothing. And any attempt to adjust your salary or address any concerns will be brushed off and ignored. The folks that hurt the most with this attitude are sr. managers and below. Anyone doing the grunt work. It seems like anyone Director or above gets a pass from doing work/servicing the client, especially if you're one of Jim's "favorites."

Pros

A few genuinely good, hardworking people on the team, yet most have left in the last six months for greener pastures.

Cons

Read the negative reviews and BELIEVE them. My time here was marked by the complete collapse of my mental health. What was advertised as a fun, creative, collaborative experience turned out to be some of the most draining, defeating months of my life. The social team is led by some of the most toxic, arrogant, #hustleculture egomaniacs you’ll come across in your career. Be prepared to be on-call 24 hours a day. I was viciously reprimanded for taking three hours to respond to an email on a Saturday. The average work day here is around 16-17 hours, with most logging off at 10-11PM. If you’re not willing to work these hours, be ready for passive aggressive comments and judgment about your “commitment” to the team, or lack thereof. I constantly expressed the fact that I felt overworked, that too much was thrown on my plate (most of which were projects I had heretofore had no involvement in, thus making them extremely difficult to get up-to-speed on), and these concerns were met with classic condescending gaslighting techniques: “Do you lack time management skills? Do you lack ambition? What are YOU doing wrong?“ I woke up every morning terrified, wondering who was going to scream at me that day, how much was I was going to be belittled, and how much unexpected work was going to be thrown on my plate with the expectation I’d prioritize it over everything else I was working on. I felt like I was drowning, literally. The final straw for me was on an 8pm Zoom meeting. Earlier in the evening, a coworker briefly logged off to have dinner with her family. The Team Lead proceeded to humiliate her in front of everyone on the call: “Where were you? You HAVE to be more vocal about where you’re going. You’re showing a complete disregard for this team.” I sat there in disbelief, wanting desperately to stand up for my coworker, yet also being afraid of the TL’s wrath being redirected towards me. Keep in mind, this was completely outside of business hours, yet we were expected to work late because, I quote, : “It’s a pandemic. What else do you have to do?” Soon after that, a coworker lost a loved one and messaged the team that they would be logging off early. The same TL responded: “Couldn’t you have let us know sooner?” I put in my two weeks the next day. The icing on the cake? In my exit interview, I told HR these stories come among many others. I expressed that there was one person who majorly contributed to the toxicity of the team, who was solely responsible for over six people leaving. The very next week, that person was promoted. I’m writing this in hopes no one has to go through what I did.
