Not a good long term job

Pros

Some really good individual contributors. Nothing else.

Cons

The executives lead with a toxic mindset. Pitting one group against another and pushing for a lot of extra hours in the engineering side of the house at least. At times it feels like a sweatshop mindset.

Thank you for your post. I've thought a lot about your comments before I responded. Yes, there are some great employees at RealPage, and I bet if you thought about it, you might be able to find something else good to say about the company. If you are willing to go deeper on your Cons and Advice I suggest we do that. Not sure who you are calling executives, but I can tell you that no one has time for poor leaders at any level. So please give me a call ayc x4016 and I am willing to bet we can make some progress. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Pros

Team mates are frequently wonderful people

Cons

This place creates an atmosphere that encourages half-measures. Benefits seem to decrease year after year. Work environment is uncomfortable and distracting.

Thank you for your post. I'm glad you found some really wonderful people working at RealPage. I'm struggling with your Con commentary, and I'm not discounting your personal experience, but without knowing exactly where you worked its hard to be specific. This is what i do know I watch people participate in striving for excellence every day. We try very hard not to have to have a distracting and uncomfortable work environment and the employee engagement scores reflect that. We rose in 2016 to 73% positive on engagement and 72% positive in enablement. Those scores are higher than Fortunes Most Admired Companies. Now let me clear up your perception on benefits, we haven't changed the plan in three years. In fact this year we expanded maternity leave and will have the highest 401k match ever. You make it sound like we settle for second tier employees-that is just not the case and we have a 90+ acceptance rate on all offers. I wish you well in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Meh... clients are pissed.

Pros

Some stock rewards, decent pay if you negotiate. Company gives small perks (parking) and tries to give back to community by asking staff to contribute to charitable organizations.

Cons

Clients are pissed! They feel trapped after spending far too much for PM software. They throw in add on services in the package that are extremely weak. Clients are constantly getting the run around while trying to find the right people to fix their issues. Management knows the clients are pissed and try to change processes only to find their is no fix, leading to upper management churn. Trying to be top notch at EVERYTHING in the Multifamily space isn't possible for this company. Reputation in industry is that they don't "play well" with other organizations. Worked with some of the most annoying brown nosing people that won't let you get in a word in edgewise. Constantly asked to provide data to prove your worth. Never had an understanding what is really going on with this company. Management is very secretive, always had the feeling that big brother is watching. CPO spouts off without considering employees on situations that make you wonder if you your group is at risk. No room for anyone to really speak their minds.. so you better be a YES man if you want to work here.

Thank you for your post. I appreciate the fact that you pointed out the fact that RealPage is known to be one of the most charitable organizations in the metroplex. I would agree that all talented employees should have the opportunity to "bloom" I agree that add on products should be the best product that we can build to create customer loyalty. I can tell you for a fact that your perception that Management has a big brother mentality is really off base, unless you have an isolated instances. We're working really hard to create a better company every day. Its unfortunate that you did not experience that like so many others have. I will share with you a couple of recent facts. The company just completed an engagement/ee survey. Over 83% of the employees filled it out. Two main categories, engagement and enablement and you need them both to be successful. Engagement across the company came in at 73% positive, up six points and higher than fortune most admired benchmark. Enablement went up two points to 72% overall positive. Which is higher than most Fortune Admired companies as well. We are a steep vertical in our space, and it is getting better by the day. I sincerely, hope you find a company that is a better fit for what you are looking for. I really do. Sincerely, Kurt Twining
