Be careful before taking a job with rehabcare

They pay very well compared to other rehab service agencies

Cons

They are a bit dishonest when hiring. They tell you that the goal is 85% productivity. They gloss over the fact that if you can't be 85% productive because of volumes, you are sent home

Rehab Care offers a Competitive salary. RehabCare offers a very flexible Schedule. RehabCare offers an opportunity to be creative and start new programs. RehabCare local staff are friendly. Flexible schedule

Cons

THis Job was advertised as "full time" @ 32 hours. To qualify for full time benefits, you only need to work 32 hours every 13 weeks. I wanted to work 3 to 4 days a week but instead the position required me to be there 5 days a week, often getting sent home after three or four hours due to low census. Had I stayed on, I would not have qualified for full-time benefit status.

Pros

The use of a palm pilot is helpful in keeping track of hours worked, patients and even things like daily tasks.

Cons

There is an expectation of very high productivity without much regard for patient care and outcomes. Outwardly, RehabCare likes to make people think they are very focused on good patient care, but generally the focus of instruction from senior management is to reduce cost and increase productivity with very little regard for what quality of care is being provided.
