Good for gaining experience, but not a good long-term company

Pros

Great coworkers and good benefits. In the past, they have hired a lot of inexperienced people, which has made it a good place to get experience. You could come in as support or an intern and possibly get promoted into a more professional role. They said they are looking to hire more experienced employees now though, so there might not be as much opportunity for that kind of growth in the future.

Cons

Largely inexperienced workforce (although the people I worked with mostly had a really great work ethic), low pay, low employee morale, high turnover, and ethically shady. Those last three are tightly related. A lot of employees feel like the company doesn't treat their customers well or really care about them. That obviously leads to the low morale, which then leads to turnover. It can be a rough place to walk into day after day, knowing that your paycheck comes from taking advantage of vulnerable people.

Thanks for the review. You're correct in that we have hired a lot of less experienced people in the past and given them a chance to build a great career. A good chunk of our management staff came from entry-level roles a few years ago. It's unfortunate to hear some of the negative feedback. We can say that our NPS (net promoter score) is pretty high compared to the industry standards so we know our customers feel positive about their experience with us. Pros

Great place to work right out of college with limited experience. You will be given the opportunity to show what you are capable of doing, not judged on what you have done in the past. Opportunities for growth are there for those that are genuinely interested. Additionally, the benefits are pretty decent, and the company seems genuinely interested in improving their benefits going forward.

Cons

Growth opportunities are generally limited to individual development, rather than being tied with salary increases. The trouble with this strategy is while you are giving people resources to improve their performance and utility to the company, those skills usually end up being applied to get a higher level position at a different company. More people are developed out of the company to other organizations than are actually promoted internally. This is mainly due to an abundance of qualified and highly intelligent employees though, as opposed to few spots internally for promotion

Thanks for the note on the promotions. We typically like to see a salary increase when an individual is promoted into a role that requires more responsibility.
