Pros

You have to a wear a lot of hats, so you will learn a lot in your time at RD.

Cons

Upper management operates with ADD. The company’s #1 priority shifts every 2 hours. Blanket threats of firing are sent to employees as a motivational tool. Most departments are understaffed due to toxic work environment. False promises from leadership leads to empty results. If salaried, you are asked to work beyond your regular work load. If you are not salaried, you are asked to double the work load and you cannot do overtime.

Pros

Did not come away with any Pro's! One of the worst experiences in the Grocery industry I have ever had and I have over 30+ years

Cons

Dis-Honest Corporate Culture Regionals and VP's gave no support Pay Schedule for Store Manager and Department Managers way below standard Managers Training Program is none existent Good ole' Boy system in Corporate (Unless you play the game and agree you do not get promoted) Expected to work 7 days a week no less than 10 hours a day IF A MANAGER HAS TO WORK THAT MUCH THEN HE IS NOT DOING HIS JOB CORRECTLY.

Pros

Pay, benefits, employees at the stores and other regional managers. Training stores were well prepared for new trainees which was great.

Cons

I had high hopes when I started with this company. The training program is 4 months which was nice. I accepted that I would be away from my family for 5 days a week in order the learn the business. I really enjoyed going through each role all the way from front desk to store manager. Integrity, accountability, and trust are very important qualities in upper management, it is lacking in this instance. My training was stopped short and I was expected to know the ins and outs of my role in three months. I was thrown under the bus for an employee matter that was to be handled by upper management. Micro-managed to the extreme, example is calling every time I entered and left a store. Phone conversations where I was belittled, cursed at, and called names. Every store visit was demoralizing, no coaching and working collaboratively to fix the problems. I’ve been in this industry for 30 years and this has been the worst experience in my career.
