Pros

the other business development representatives are all ages 22-32, so it makes for a fun work environment outside of the 9-5. Super relaxed dressed code.

Cons

Team leads aka your managers. They have no training and no people skills. They were just some of the first people in the company and got promoted because of that and it's obvious to tell the second you walk in the door.

Absolute Chaos - Stay Away

Pros

Relaxed Dress Code Fun Employees

Cons

Going into a BDR role at RoadRunner I was excited for the opportunities I was promised to take an uncapped commission "As high as I wanted." Training lasted all of 2 days running through a crash course on Sales Force. No phone techniques, or strategies were taught. Commission structure was also a joke, you'll never make any money on commission here. Management is also a mess. No managerial training for these people, just former BDRs who excelled at booking meetings - then they constantly watch your every move, pull you aside, and take time away from your work day and prospecting time. Expect to dial over 100 times a day, you are pressured to have 70 "meaningful" phone calls per day, or else you are frowned upon. This takes valuable time away from important customers. Employee turnover is high, and I don't see that slowing down anytime soon if you are not working to their standards. The office environment is awful - music blaring throughout the office which is extremely distracting, profanities being shouted throughout the entire office, and people sprinting around the office trying to get a laugh. There are intimate relationships around the office between BDR management and employees which is unprofessional, distracting, and discouraging.

Pros

This is such an amazing company to work for. The vibe is young and hard-working. I worked Inside-Sales/Business Development at RoadRunner for two years, less than a year after they opened office in NYC. I started with little experience and a positive outlook. I quickly learned how fast paced RoadRunner can be. Everyone is so supportive and there is an amazing team dynamic. It's a team that likes to have fun, joke around, but always works hard. We were always expected to meet goals. Goals that are difficult but definitely achievable. This is a job that thrives on enthusiasm and positivity. The management of RoadRunner does a fantastic job every day. They encourage everyone to go for their best effort. Sometimes we get spoiled with after lunch cookies, or TGIF Breakfast. It is very apparent that management appreciates every single person in the company. Everyone has a voice at RoadRunner. I loved working for this company. Unfortunately, I had to part ways for my own reasons of moving cross country. I wouldn't have taken the time to write all this if I wasn't being honest. This company is awesome. It's really got a bright future.

Cons

I wouldn't say there are any serious "Cons" to RoadRunner. At least not from the inside sales team. The only cons I can think of are just cons about working in general. The hours, the repetitiveness, the frustrations of speaking with people who aren't interested... It's going to be like that anywhere. I wouldn't say that is only RoadRunner specific. It's a start-up company-- You are expected to work hard and put in the effort.
