Hell on earth, had to give it a rating but it does not even deserve the one star

Where should I begin? The company is ran by a bunch of money hungry CEO'S or slave masters as I would like to call them. The amount of work expected from the management team is absolutely ridiculous and the pay for it is a joke. Payroll is so low that the managers have to make up for all the extra hours that need to be put in to get the crazy work load done. The entire time i was assistant manager here I never seen a work week that consisted of my required 52 hours a week. It was always more. They expect you to always go the extra mile and give up your life and that wouldn't be to bad if there was a little bit of appreciation and recognition for your hard work but no, don't expect that. Oh and if you have a problem with anything, don't expect any action to be taken. HR is also another joke. harassment and intimidation are allowed apparently.I made a complaint to the vice president about some things and was told it would be confidential.Thirty minutes later the district manager was on the phone with the store manager telling everything, should have seen that coming honestly. They don't stand behind any of their own policies, so when you do your job and a customer does not like their return policy and you deny them the return all they have to do is call corporate, and low and behold they don't back their management team making you look like the biggest jerk in front of customers. They cater to the lower income based markets, and put all stores in low income neighborhoods which is not a problem because I loved some of the customers that came into my store, but they corporate freaks out when they come in an your store has been turned upside down completely by the careless customers and due to no payroll there are no employees there to clean the train wreck. Everything is cheap. The merchandise, the buildings they place these stores in. Even the fixtures and counters they use to hold the merchandise are crap and broken. Really I could go on forever, but I hope you get the point. I have never been this miserable. Save yourself a visit to your psychiatrist and a prescription of nerve medication and keep looking. Broke, unemployed but peaceful is better than abused , worked into the ground and completely miserable. .
