Pros

Bonus was nice (and necessary, given total compensation) Annual user conference looked fun for those able to go Those who know what they're doing REALLY know what they're doing and are gracious with their time and expertise

Cons

Company culture is toxic and micro-managed Leadership is disgustingly out of touch, talks a LOT of talk and walks ZERO walk Owner is a controlling megalomaniac with a temper. Shouting in meetings was not uncommon and always glossed over or laughed off. Absolutely everything was his way or no way. Unrealistic expectations, with major process changes happening during peak season due to poor planning and execution of "upgrades" Career trajectory stagnant, no opportunity for growth in most departments Health benefits were TERRIBLE for an INSURANCE company

High Turnover of Employees

Pros

No pros to comment at this time.

Cons

The retention of employees at this company is extremely low for a reason. High turnover is caused by a lack of communication, support, burnout, and company culture. The majority of the staff are new employees including management. In my years of employment with Roundstone there have been many employees that are not permitted to work their full two weeks upon giving notice, causing a hindrance on the staff and training. Burnout is common and the base salary is low compared to other competitors in the area (including the non-guaranteed bonus). Annual/performance reviews are not accurate. Upper management should listen to employees concerns and act on them. Hire employees that have experience and are familiar with the industry. Growth is good, but growing with the right staff is essential.

Insensitive management style

Pros

It's not all bad however it is time for me to find a caring employer.

Cons

Management/owner is very insensitive towards his employees. At the last employee meeting he talked about the fact that their were some sick employees (he mentioned one had a premature babies, one had a heart attack, knee surgery, etc.) ... and then said our health insurance premiums were increasing significantly along with increasing the deductible nearly 33%. I felt bad for the employees that suffered these conditions/experiences - they went through enough only to be called out in front of the entire company and told they are the reason for the increase in costs to the employees. He also joked that it was his wife's fault for hiring so many sick employees. I don't know what else to say other than I was shocked that he would say such things. This is the mentality of the person running the company.
