Pros

Can't say much beside all the things you can learn from cons

Cons

- BAD communication - Terrible management and leadership - Not a great start-up company and very unorganized - Falsed advertisement just so you can work for them - TERRIBLE BENEFITS - Wasting a lot of time and energy for nothing (meaning a lot back and forth) - Everyone is not a self-stater, so the work environment is bad - CEO is not great either. Ruggable is doing good because of their products otherwise the company is bad. Worse to say.

Good people, poor leadership and company direction

Pros

Unlimited PTO, flexibility to work in different cities, smart and engaging coworkers

Cons

Doesn't have great benefits (healthcare, maternity/paternity leave). Leadership feels completely out of touch with the rest of the organization. No one in the leadership team owns up to mistakes and when mistakes are inevitably made, the work falls back on the lower-level employees. Ruggable has been growing over the past few years and it seems like the current leadership team is not up to the task of growing the company in an effective and conducive manner. This has caused a lot of people at Ruggable to lose trust in the executives and the company as a whole. At times the culture can be toxic and feels like there is a sense of favoritism if you've been at the company since the beginning.

You don't win here

Pros

- People - Unlimited PTO - Relaxed work environment - Customers who love our rugs - Brand recognition by other employers - 401k The people are truly awesome. We are able to hire the best natured people with the least amount of drama. Friendships beyond "co-workers" are often made here. Unlimited PTO has truly been unlimited for most of the teams. Of course, people are responsible when they take PTO so they don't just leave you hanging. Ruggable is a highly recognized DTC brand. It's loyal customers love the rugs and no matter your feelings about the quality of the product, it definitely addresses a huge painpoint in many people's lives. Finally, working at Ruggable can help you get an immediate interview at any ecommerce team. Honestly, the PTO thing is what keeps people here along with the relaxed work environment. But! there are alot of overachievers (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) so you see people working all the time.

Cons

- Low Pay - Limited career growth - Poor Benefits - Shady layoff - Strategic Direction - Limited Leadership vision Honestly, career advancement is fairly limited at Ruggable if you're starting out as non director or higher employee. They didn't promote a whole swath of employees b/c of a seemingly arbitrary promotion freeze across the company. The only ones that were promoted were directors and above. They're more than willing to hire newbies to fill in the boots because they know they can get these individuals at a discount. There are managers who try their best to varying degrees, but honestly, this issue goes back up to the board. Also, there are people who brought in a lot of revenue and they were never promoted. So do the math. The benefits aren't great. They barely cover 70-80% of basic HMO and it only gets worse with higher tiers. The basic 401k is about the only good thing I can say about Ruggable. People are let go before individual bonuses to the point where timing is very weird. Honestly, if money stresses you out, don't work here. If you're ok, work here, build your resume, and leave b/c you won't get what you're looking for here long-term.
