my experience at rural metro is great

Pros

professionalism, exceptional patient care, great management, great co-workers, professional and dedicated employees, great mechanics, really good command staff and upper management, good ambulances, overall a great place to work

Cons

some management favortism, alot of dispatch favoritism, some dispatchers have no idea how to dispatch, dispatchers not comfirming appointments for the following day, then when sent to get the patient and the patient is either in the hospital, deceased, or no longer at that facility

The people I worked directly with were as nice as could be and I even still hang out with them.

Cons

When we had any slow days or were missing supplies we would be left to our own devices when it came to finding the stuff we need to refill the truck which is difficult considering we are emergency personnel.

This company has really excelled in building quality teams to provide ALS and BLS patient care needs in many American cities. Teamwork, community involvement, value driven patient care, partners in excellence with hospitals, fire, police and other networks of providers all have become Rural Metro strongpoints!

Cons

Often, large staffing needs can put many employees in positions of not getting their voices heard. These larger ambulance companies have big footprints in communities and provide employment opportunities to many, but the problems often seen in larger companies are not exempt in Rural Metro's families.
