Disorganized; "led" by a loose cannon

Pros

This place could be a good fit if you're a recent grad and need programming / coding experience. There is no oversight and you can work as little as you'd like. Downside is you won't have much guidance or training. Typical contractor environment (customer makes a lot of the rules, not the company), so if that's new to you, there can be some inflexibility that would be hard to get used to. If you're fresh out of the military, their off-site tactical group could be a decent option (because they refuse to interact with the CEO).

Cons

If you've ever worked at a legitimate company, you will not be able to work here for very long. No leadership (absentee CEO/CTO; no CFO or COO). "Lab" is smoke and mirrors. CEO is openly hostile toward women. Make sure you ask around before working here--company's reputation speaks for itself. Do not believe CEO if he says he's looking to change his incredibly high turnover rate.

In our industry we have a really good reputation. We have an IT lab that we are really proud of, and many top IT companies work with us in our lab every week. Very few companies our size have facilities of our quality. And, yes, I am around and quite engaged in the company. We have 40% growth in 2017 and we will have another 30% growth in 2018. Exciting times and lots of opportunity. Thanks, have a nice day, John Lyons

Pros

The salary to get you in the door and the promises they make. That is where the Pro's end there!

Cons

They promise you that you will be working on exciting work and room for growth, then it is anything but and everyone just has to "chip in". Management doesn't seem to have a clue what they are doing and just trying to hold it together.

Will burn bridges

Pros

Decent benefits. Free snacks.

Cons

If they need to lay you off, they will make up a "cause" to avoid paying unemployment or disability. I left on my own terms, but multiple other former employees have said that. Does not give raises even when promoted.

SOLUTE has over 130 happy employees. We certainly follow all laws and statutes. Unemployment and disability determinations are not made by the company but by the state. So, we really don't have a say in the matter. Unfortunately some people do not workout, and it seems instead of moving on they try to get even on a review site. SOLUTE is celebrating three new contract wins this week. So, our customers like us, and our current employees have a lot of opportunity to grow. After 16 years in business, I do not know of any hard-working, capable SOLUTE member that did not have a positive experience at SOLUTE. Thanks, John
