Pros

There were no pros besides getting a pay check while under contract.

Cons

SRM rushed into New Jersey and New York making big empty promises to employees and talking big game to stakeholders, union reps, and competitors. Their local management is a clueless puppet show that has completely dismantled and trashed the legacy of U.S. Concrete. They are losing drivers and management by the droves and are grasping to keep the company afloat. Negotiations have been a circus! They are clueless about the culture of this area and and will soon regret this purchase. The lack of diversity in upper management in this company is disgusting. There are no people of color and/or women in upper management. On the local level they have kept 2 diversity hires that had to prove their incompetence's and willingness to people please and be willing puppets. While infiltrating such a diverse area their needs to be an emphasis on making sure management reflects the world. Their is also a huge disparity in the salaries of people of color and women that are employed in the same capacities. A disparity that upper management is fully aware of and has done nothing to address! This company only cares about profit not their employees. If your looking for a company that prides themselves on integrity, transparency, diversity, culture, and respect, THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY FOR YOU!

Pros

The only pros about this job is that you get paid weekly

Cons

Horrible company I got hurt on the job. The next day I came I was supposed to be on light duty. I went to my car to eat my lunch when I walked back in. They fired me said that I fell asleep on the job. How could I possibly fall asleep on the job when I am on light duty and was supposed to be watching safety videos but you guys never provided it also there is no guarantee 40 hours so in bad weather whatever hours you work is what hours you get paid definitely not a company that cares about its employees I would not even apply here.

Pros

It's just a job,,,That's all it is....

Cons

In the interview, you're told information about the job, It's up to you to take on a job that i will NEVER do again. What you're not told it's a CONSTRUCTION POSITION! SRM was basically doing residental work, until 2023, when they became commerical based, It can be good, but the hours are very long, no lunch breaks. You're constantly rolling! Some days can last 14 hours during spring/summer months. If you have a family, you will not see them very much, that is the truth. However, if you're liked, you will get hours when it's slow, and you will get jobs that will not be a headache. Fill out your tickets completely, especially the times you left the plant, arrived at the the job and the time you started the pour. You will work with mexican crews, and its not easy. If you're new, it's going to be rough, You will be subjected to racism, and bias. Make sure you pay attention to where you're going to deliver concrete to the correct address, If you're NOT sure or confused, call the manager to cover yourself. If you don't, trouble will come with it. Don't believe everything you hear about certain issues, I'm not going to go on, SRM is NOT the only option. There's other concrete companies to work for. Shop around. I'm sorry I ever worked for this company. Don't trust SRM. They're about the $ and the customers, NOT the DRIVERS!
