Pros

I met great people here from some managers and mainly team leaders and members. Going up the ladder is easy as long as you brown nose the management

Cons

The cons are endless. Management do not care about you, they don't care if you have cancer (exaggeration) they will ask why you called in sick, hound you and ask you to come for some hours. They will charge you £50 for a plastic discount card, if you lose it, that offers a USELESS 15% off M&S products and 50% off from burger king and some pastry shops. They use the same barcode instead of having a unique id for each thus charging a minimum age worker £50 for plastic. The company has an absurd amount of policies including a letter of concern for coming in late twice within 3 months, no matter how many times you come to work sick, or how many extra hours you sacrifice they don't care, YOU ARE A BARCODE. WAKE UP PEOPLE, THESE CORPORATIONS ARE FILTH. They have threatening policies displayed all over the staff room where we eat for our breaks, its meant to be a place to relax and enjoy your food. They employ staff from overseas who can't speak a word of english and put them on the tills LMAO The management is insensitive to people and thier problems disrupting their work, HELLO DEMOTIVATING YOUR STAFF DOES YOUR SALES WONDERS It is like SSP is run by simpletons. I stopped many thieves saving hundreds of pounds for SSP, now i let the thieves take what they want by staying idle and brain dead like the automaton they want me to be. Demotivation loses you sales, who woulda guessed? Treat your "bottom-feeders" right and maybe the reviews will change, no one wants to work for you, staff leave everyday.

Pros

None other than you can take food as u please yes I took food and didn't care whether I could or not because the place was such a crap hole u could get away with it 😂

Cons

Well they are RACIST!!! They hire a lot of Eastern Europeans and then they will bring in their family friends and cousins so majority of the team will either be from the same country or and employee has brought them in. They all speak their language at work, in front of customers etc the English managers would put a stop to it then the Eastern European would just come and push it back to how it was before

Pros

Room for growth if you do well. You can make a lot of money depending on the day/shift you get. Even if it's slow you walk out with much more in tips than you would at some other server job.

Cons

Managers definitely have their favorites. During the slow times of the year i.e. after the new year until spring break, hours get cut severely.
