Thank you for taking the time to write your employment experience at Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. on Glassdoor. We appreciate your feedback. We agree with you that our staff are top notch and all share a commitment to serving those in need. It’s a great culture to be a part of! Plus, as you mention, the free food provided on occasion is also a nice perk. You mention that you had concerns with your job as a Support Staff. We understand that, at times, the job can be stressful in the event a customer is unhappy about something. We can not control how a customer interacts with our staff, however, we do have a commitment to our Support Staff to provide them with the necessary tools and techniques to help calm down an angry customer and how to better cope with on-the-job stressors for self-care. In fact, during the first month of employment at Nystrom, we provide a high quality training to our staff on tips to de-escalate an angry customer. In addition to that, Support Staff have a team of office management staff that are there to assist when needed. We do our best, and are continuing to improve this for our Support Staff. You also mentioned feeling that you were “disrespected from therapists and psychiatrists.” Nystrom does not tolerate any staff person acting in a disrespectful way towards another staff person or customer. If you had or continue to have concerns about this, it should be immediately reported to your supervisor and/or HR and this would be dealt with in a respectful manner towards you and the other staff person until resolution. If you wish to discuss anything further, please feel free to contact our Human Resources department. Thank you for providing your feedback.

Pros

The clinical staff are talented and compassionate professionals who care deeply about the work they do and who strive to be amazing colleagues and therapists. There is also room for flexibility in managing the times clients are seen which is helpful if one has a young family or needs to work around other schedules.

Cons

There is constant disorganization and the company itself does not live up to its own hype. They promote themselves as a "Christian" agency but often treat their staff in a very non-Christian way. They run strictly as a for-profit business and they do whatever they can to line their pocket. They transfer all costs they can (such as credit card fees) onto individual providers.

Thank you for taking the time to write your employment experience at Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. on Glassdoor. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you are here and a part of our team! We agree with you that our staff are talented, professional and care about the work they do. We inarguably have the best staff around! Thank you for mentioning too that you appreciate the ability to essentially create your own schedule and the ability to have input and discretion on your work hours and the clients that you see. Nystrom always strives to give our providers the highest level of autonomy in an effort to provide them choices that meet their lifestyle and that jive well for their personal life and their family. That is a top priority for Nystrom. I am sorry to hear that you feel that you’ve been treated in a “non Christian way.” We are a Christian based organization and strive to treat our staff and customers in a kind and respectful manner. We are also a for-profit organization, but we do not focus on revenues or profits. Rather, we focus on what is best for the patients we serve and strive to provide services in a way that will result in the best outcome for our patients. Of course, we need to earn a profit to stay in business and stay competitive in the industry. Of course we have a lot of overhead expenses that increase with time (ie: the costs of renting office space, utility expenses, taxes, wages of our support staff that support our providers, etc.). We do not “try to transfer all costs to our providers to line our pockets” as you mention in your posting. Our goal is to be transparent with our staff regarding how they are paid. In fact, when we make a job offer, we explain in detail how staff are compensated and staff are provided this information in writing. When an offer is accepted, that new employee signs this document acknowledging that they understand and attest to how the compensation structure works. There are no surprises. If you wish to discuss anything further, please feel free to contact our Human Resources department. We certainly do not want any current or former staff to be dissatisfied with their employment. Thank you for providing your feedback.
