Pros

Great and supportive co-workers, supervisors, and managers. I really felt that I have a support system and opportunities for feedback and career advancement. Clear expectations which helps the job performance. Great start if you're looking to work in the healthcare field!

Cons

Pressure to answer LOTS of phone calls, 30minute break (short). Can be stressful/emotionally draining at times for various reasons such as handling escalated calls, (rarely crisis calls), processing times takes too long, and patients getting inpatient/unable to get them in sooner than they would like. Insurance is complicating.

Hi and thank you for your review. We are pleased that you appreciated the free trainings and free board approved CEU's that we provide to our employees. We offer more than 48 free board approved and clinically stimulating CEUs each year to our staff. It's great to hear too that you enjoyed the supervision you received. We're not sure what you mean about the "non-compete" contract. We've been told by many people who we offer jobs to that our policies are much more non-restrictive than other agencies. We also don't know what you are referring to about "scare tactics." We do not engage in scare tactics and treat our employees with respect and dignity and at the same time, hold them accountable to their commitment as an employee and to ethical practices on the patients that they serve. We provide a competitive and comprehensive set of benefits to our employees which includes medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) with an employer matching contribution, health savings account, flexible spending account, long & short term disability, life insurance and other voluntary insurances. We are always thinking about adding new benefits for our employees and making our current set of benefits even better.

Pros

Kids are awesome, seeing the progress they can accomplish and the trust they are willing to give. Flexible scheduling. If you are office based, I've heard it awesome. Depending on your team, it could be amazing support or next to nothing.

Cons

Company is monetarily motivated. Lots of driving that doesn't count towards billable hours when clients cancels at the last minute. Most families want the same hours so scheduling can be hard and stressful to get to the required billable. Required documentation in session, making it hard to form relationships. Hard keeping kiddo occupied so can actually accomplish documentation and what you don't get done in session isn't billable. Non-billable hours can really add up. Hardly ever see my team or feel like I'm getting the support I need to grow and learn as a Practitioner.

Thanks for your review and we are happy to hear that you enjoy working with the clients and are able to observe the progress they are making. Thank you for commenting that you like the flexibility that this position provides. I am sorry to hear that you feel the company is monetarily motivated. This is not the way the company prioritizes the work that we do. Helping adults, children, and families are our priorities as well as our employees. We do have hour requirements for some of our clinical staff. We are licensed by the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) which requires, in some of the programs we are licensed, that each client receive adequate care and DHS requires that our staff meet with some clients a minimum amount of time per week for the care that they need. We do understand that the driving, late cancels/no-shows, documentation, and scheduling are challenges when providing mental health services to children and families in the community. Concurrent documentation is a standard strongly recommended by DHS standards. We do incorporate training around smart practices for scheduling, concurrent documentation, and confirming appointments before going to the home, but we understand these are still ongoing challenges with community-based work. I am sorry you felt like the expectations around hours was miscommunicated by management. We discuss the compensation structure, including billables and non-billables, at the initial phone screen, at interviews, and upon an official offer. We do compensate our staff for any work-related duties; both non-billable and billable and would be happy to discuss this further if there is a misunderstanding We would love for you to stick around and we certainly don’t want you to feel overworked or unappreciated. Would you be willing to speak with me 1:1 about your concerns and how we can help you feel more supported? Please reach out to HR or the Program Director of your program if you would want to take us up on that. We'd certainly appreciate it.
