Pros

I do agree that the nurses at Saint Luke's and the ancillary Staff are always there to back each other up and get through the day together.

Cons

Management is completely deaf to the staffing, safety, and quality concerns brought up by current employees. Especially since being bought out by BJC, the corporatization of Saint Luke's has had decreasing care for staff and staffing ratios, implementation of sub par benefits, and a complete and utter disregard for how all of this impacts patient care.

Pros

The people I worked directly with were very nice and great to work with on a daily basis.

Cons

The organization has "reduced costs" substantially over the past few years at the expense of lower benefits and general work environment. This company used to be known for the great work environment but many people that have been here a long time wonder why it is so different now. The workload is reasonable when I first started but when I did well they kept adding responsibilities until I was overloaded. Their career pathing needs a lot of work and their recognition for great work is lacking. When I did something way beyond my normal job description the response of gratitude, if received at all, was very underwhelming. Most of the time I received no recognition and management acted like some of the things I did were a normal part of my job (but no one else could do them on my entire team). I wasn't looking for praise every time I went outside of my job responsibilities to fix something but it's very discouraging when the only one that recognized the work I did was our software vendors and the people I directly supported. Management acted like I was just another cog in the machine.

Pros

Great team work and good benefits. I do not have to work on Sundays either. Safe and free employee parking.

Cons

Home care is losing its quality service due to the changes in Medicare regulations. Not enough employees due to budget restraints and focus is now more on the dollar and not the cares.
