Do not work at Saks if you value job security

Pros

- Good PTO package - Decent Pay

Cons

-Layoffs are CONSTANT - you can lose your job at any time. There is no security in working at Saks. - Neiman Marcus Acquisition - Since the Neiman Acquisition, working at Saks has been awful or legacy Saks employees. Employees of the acquiring company should feel secure. Not at Saks. Most of the negative fallout of the acquisition has been absorbed by legacy Saks employees with round after round of layoffs and site closures. -Poor planning - Saks will promote you this week, and lay you off next week. Forcing you to go through interviews for a promotion for no reason, knowing the whole time that they will eliminate your position next week. - 401 (k) match is terrible for such a large company

Pros

Lots of hype about new saks.com spinoff. Company is trying to seem like a new company with new ideas. Online retail is booming since pandemic.

Cons

Lots of management came from broken HBC company. Same ideas, same policies, new chance to force them to work. Decisions are made without consulting with those most knowledgeable about the impact. Work silos. People are sequestered into small roles and lost.

Pros

Unlimited PTO Remote work Potential maternity leave length is 5.5-6 months

Cons

No real advancement, pay raises or benefits betterment over the last 3 years. I’ve been promised promotions and pay increases for a year now. Constant restructuring and concerns if I’ll be laid off next. Over the last three years there’s been at least 6. Slimming down medical benefits. No bonuses for a retail company is Wild. Only reason I’ve stayed this long is the discount and PTO. The minute I get a better offer I’m gone.
