Pros

Only now that I am out, do I realize how toxic and unhealthy the environment was for me. When I first started with STC, almost a decade ago, I always wondered why would anyone leave company with such amazing and rewarding mission, fast forward to now, and the answer is, office politics! STC overall, has number of wonderful people working for them, who mostly represent charitable organizations, such as STC, in a positive light, however, in some departments, you can be Albert Einstein of your profession, but, if you belong to those of protected characteristics, or, even worse, have disability, or are of different nationality, you will get nowhere career wise. From what I could see, STC was fully aware of this, and they are taking steps toward improvement. I hope they will be able to implement system and process, where it will be easy to report unethical behavior right away, and where the culprit can be identified and removed. STC is a company with beautiful mission, and it is my hope that every child they work with, will be provided equal opportunity, regardless of race, nationality, or disability.

Cons

Office politics, favoritism, toxic environment, unethical.

Pros

-Dedicated co-workers that are well-educated and care about the mission. - Global organization. -INGO recognition.

Cons

- Senior management's inability to prioritize or govern effectively. - Favoritism around staff. - Not nimble. Makes changes like a dinosaur. - Lack of transparency and very silo-ed. Depending on what department you're in, you can get screwed over on your pay, your ability for professional development, and you're ability to gain experience. - Management has done a poor job changing a bullying and harassment culture. - Time-off is good if you're a parent. Medical insurance is not good... - Management covering up problems rather than solving them is very very common. - The amount of re-orgs demonstrate the organization's inability to manage it's people resources.

Pros

Great benefits and the perception of helping kids but the money is waited on prep rallies, and media coverage that never happen. Thousands of dollars wasted but they can miss treat people of color.

Cons

Very prejudice, black people make far less, Major favoritism; HR doesn’t care about anybody they sent some lady down here she didn’t do anything they still tell when I’m here for team building she only created horrible working environment, there’s no relief and they’re about to have a epidemic on their hands people are going to start follow EEOC complaint because this is absolutely ridiculous how did treating people of color. There are major problems and when you call HR you get the same stupid response oh we’re going to look into clearly a beer or not there are people who are educated with the degree, making for less money in that that has been done. They live on the believe that because they are white the right and it appears that that’s how it’s working except at this point people about to let the world know what’s going on with data children if something is not done immediately.
