Pros

The health benefit package is very affordably price and it is good coverage with a low deductible.

Cons

No work/home life balance. Takes them MONTHS to hire people so understaffing is a major issue. They don't promote within the company very often so it makes it hard to move up.

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our benefits as it is important to us that we provide our employees affordable benefits options. Staffing is very important, and we continue to work hard to ensure that positions are filled with the very best candidates. Additionally, internal candidates are given first opportunity with open positions, provided they are qualified and express interest. We are sorry to hear that some of your experiences at SCU were not as positive as we would like, but we appreciate your feedback. Vice President of Employee Services

Pros

The health insurance is amazing.

Cons

The individuals that are in senior management are floundering to make SCU succeed. The turnover is horrible because of it. Individuals that have been at SCU for more than a decade are viewed as road blocks to their new goals and strategy. Its very sad because it used to be a great place to work. Not sure how they continue to get Best Workplace award because it no longer is.

Pros

Jeans days Lots of opportunity to move around Volunteer incentives

Cons

I left scu because it was turning into a bank in the worst way. Incentives for employee sales were dropped while expectations for sales were raised. The branches were severely understaffed because employees came and went like a revolving door. They also decided to open more branches which further stretched the already thin branch employees. The pay is much lower than banks and the benefits are expensive. Might as well go work for a bank!

I am sorry to read that some of your employment experiences at Scott Credit Union were not characteristic of our positive culture. As a credit union, we operate by the people helping people philosophy. While we are not a hard sales environment, we do inform our members about the products and services that can improve their financial well-being. Additionally, staffing is important and each location is being reviewed to determine if any changes, such as increasing the total number of employees at the branch, should be made. Recently, we added positions to various locations that will allow more flexibility for our employees. Additionally, we implemented a wide-scale salary increase for many of our member facing positions in order to stay competitive within the industry. Salary reviews will be continued into 2019 and changes will be made where necessary. We appreciate your feedback about your experience and will take this into consideration during our change planning process. Vice President of Employee Services
