Pros

Great managers. They care about and take care of (as much as they are allowed by the family) their employees. The facilities are nice but when looking around at the extravagance and then consider how low salaries are, money could definitely be better spent.

Cons

The family. Owner is great, cares for people and products. Not so with the children who are running the company. It is typical silver spoon approach - people mean nothing and are randomly just fired with no warning. Everything is about the VPs and their total control of every minute aspect of peoples' lives when they are at work. Talk about micromanagement and misuse/abuse of talented employees. Too bad! Could be a great company if all of the upper management other than the owner and wife were canned and actual experienced, educated executives were hired to run the company instead. The company succeeds in spite of the family which attests to the owner's brilliance and excellent business savvy. Nothing is transparent - which makes everything unstable. There is zero loyalty to employees. Recently an employee of 13+ years was given no notice or options when his position was eliminated. Just a call to come to his building during lunch and he was canned. Unacceptable.

Pros

First with a personal note. I never once felt as though I was working. I loved this job and company so much that never once did it feel like a "job". The people are friendly and hard working. They know the technology and they apply it well. Most of the mid-level managers are good and knowledgeable people. The technology can be "bleeding edge" at times.

Cons

Upper management is mad up of mostly family members of the owner and CEO. Decisions are made on the basis of aesthetics more than on engineering needs or qualifications.

Pros

Great team of developers to work with. It truly felt like everyone wanted you to succeed. They have a strong product and code base to work with if you're a software engineer. They have good processes for developing products with product owners, scrum masters, managers, etc.

Cons

They office setup needs be more aligned with a modern company for software engineering. The software 'house' as its call is literally a house not an office building. Instead of yearly bonuses they spend more on socializing, training, facilities, etc.

Pros

It's hard to find anything real positive to say about my experience at Script Pro. Being involved in a cool industry with robotics and healthcare was about it.

Cons

- No career path or development. They refuse to invest in their people. - Managers are friends of the family. Those who sip enough Kool-Aid get the promotions. Those who don't are stuck for years. - Upper management want 'Yes' men, instead of leveraging their employees for suggestions. - Their product is often deployed without being finished, despite the cost to mainly government organizations being in the hundreds of thousands of dollars per order. - Sales team in my estimation is one of the most unethical groups in the company. Selling customers equipment and upgrades they don't need, can't use or knowingly sells equipment that doesn't have functional software behind it.

Pros

Pharmaceutical automation will always be needed in the future. "Some" of the managers are good to work with. Although I never used it they have a gym for those that go.

Cons

The family who owns ScriptPro along with others in upper management play favorites and being a favorite has its advantages. Advantages to look forward to include: Great pay! No need to be qualified! No need to do your job! You can throw your weight around at those that don't know the family personally and play "Who Wants To Be a Manager"! Promotions that make other employees scratch their heads! Zero accountability and the enjoyment of having the ability to pass blame onto others! Immunity from firings and layoffs! Benefits: My insurance was over $600 a month for family coverage. Many have quit ScriptPro because they can't afford it. When I first started pay was ridiculously uneven. Someone who has been at ScriptPro for 3 years could be making $42k while a brand new straight out of college individual could be hired on making $45. Be careful when negotiating as they would pay you minimum wage if they could. From what I have been told by others still working at ScriptPro is they now have pay bands which may have leveled everything some. Retirement was fair and they also had the occasional profit sharing. When we did get raises they were poor, and even worse the top 10 performer would be getting maybe .5% better versus a bottom 10 performer. No incentive to do well because of that. Layoffs and firings are completely mysterious in nature. We will get an email about how awesome we are doing this year then magically 3 or 4 people from a group will get let go or be mysteriously fired for performance issues even though they have never been written up. As a result many are walking on egg shells hoping to not be the next one. Miscellaneous: The culture of the departments is one against the other always. Usually Customer service gets blamed for everything yet ScriptPro pimps customer service to all of the new pharmacies about how awesome we are. If you are one of the coveted individuals with DOD access good luck ever leaving your position. Management hinders your career growth greatly because they know if all of their good workers went to other departments they would have to maybe lift a finger for once and be inconvenienced for a change. The entire culture of ScriptPro is very gossipy and juvenile. The few years I was there it started off good but I quickly saw the lack of promotions, good raises, hypocrisy and lies.

Pros

The people in the trench were good for the most part. Parties, corporate challenge, food, break room, nap area etc. etc.

Cons

Every group seems to have lazy people who are buddies with managers / directors and literally don't pull their weight but get away with it. Bringing concerns / complaints are met with deaf ears. Promotions are non existent unless you're drinking buddies with managers / directors / VP's. Work load and expectations are often unrealistic and unmanageable. Training and documentation is lacking, and there are many people who if they were hit by a bus tomorrow would leave huge gaps with their longevity. Their systems and processes are so antiquated it's not even funny. Management refuses to get with the times and listen to the people actually doing the work. The inefficiencies are glaring but no one wants to change. The sales process is embarrassing. They will literally contract with someone for a product that doesn't even exist yet and sit on it for years before scrapping the idea or installing some washed up solution that doesn't work as they were originally sold.
