      Pros

      Believing in the mission - we're doing it for the kids. The people actually doing the work are great.

      Cons

      IT leadership doesn't know what they are doing. Opinions of vendors and contractors are more valued than loyal long term employees. Plans for IT outsourcing are badly planned, ill conceived, barely communicated, and by all accounts are in contrast to leadership claims. The few instances of outsourcing that have already happened have been shown to be a bad idea. Senior IT leadership is spectacularly tone-deaf to IT staff, in a number of ways. We really don't need any more chicken recipes, "inspirational quotes", links to self-help resources or insincere commentary on all the above.

      Dysfunctional leadership, no accountability

      Respectable mission and great benefits package

      Cons

      There is no one to hold leadership accountable. When mistakes are made, and there will always be mistakes, they are too prideful to own up to them, identify the root cause, and take corrective action. When people raise concerns there is retaliation with no one to turn to for support. This has been the most dysfunctional organization I have worked for throughout my career and I can't wait to leave.
