Pros

I can not think of a single pro of working as a claims adjuster for Selective Insurance especially in the Auto department.

Cons

The place is an absolute dumpster fire of a work environment. Get ready to be rewarded with more work from people who can’t properly do their job. Leadership and direct supervisors lack credible knowledge and experience to do their job correctly. There is no repercussions for subpar employees except that their claims find a way off their desk. Speaking of claims, they love to play “where can I hide these claims” by claim dumping onto adjusters desk and telling them to do their best when someone quits then that person tends to quit creating a chain of pass offs. If you speak up you will face repercussions. They claim they promote from within but will always choose an outside candidate with experience rather than providing the training to a current employee to grow. Absolutely zero ongoing training and loves to put on a show about how much they care about employees yet come time to show it (raises) somehow they just can’t do anything for you.
