Pros

Your pay check will clear.

Cons

Definitely the strangest place I've ever worked. There is no formal training. No structure or direction from management. Your manager will throw you under the bus. Your extra mile will never be noticed Lots of nepotism. Nothing progressive. Very old school.

We cannot respond to this as we have no idea who or what area of the company, so it’s not very helpful. It may be a random competitor writing a review.

Pros

The best team in West Michigan to work with and for. Great Technical staff and a great bunch of people to work with.

Cons

We are in a competitive technical environment that requires changes fast. This work can be challenging and rewarding at the same time but requires multitasking

Pros

Work at Sentinel is challenging. The management in Michigan is a group of smart people who genuinely care about and respect their employees. I worked hard and had a good attitude. They made sure that I could spend time with my family, and they supported my career goals. I loved the teamwork. Before I came to work here I heard a lot of wonderful things about Sentinel. They were all true. I personally left because I wanted to be able to manage my own systems, rather than spend shorter periods in many different customer environments. I enjoyed the years I spent there though and the experience and friendships I gained there are extremely valuable to me.

Cons

Working for a VAR in a consulting type of role is challenging. People who are not willing to constantly learn new things and be independently motivated will not enjoy it. You have to know your stuff really well when you start because there’s not much OJT time. You hit the ground running! This is just the nature of the business. I saw some people come in with certs but not much field experience, and not all of them were able to make the jump from knowing enough to pass a test to knowing enough to complete a customer project.
