Promising start - disappointing finish
Pros
Lots of opportunity to play cross-functionally and take on side projects that can help you grow professionally. The people (excluding executive team) are a pleasure to work with and always happy to help. The company has a mission to positively impact young consumers and their products back that up.
Cons
Poor leadership from C-Level has choked out this once promising organization. Uncompetitive compensation packages. The TOP LEADERS (C-Suite - looking at you) simply don't understand how to build a company, and how to assess talent. They are more worried about GPA and meaningless cognitive assessments than they are at letting their talented leaders lead and build their own teams. They truly believe that they know best. They don't. They cling to a false belief that they can attract talent based on how cool the company is. They prioritize test scores over diversity and inclusion. Maybe if they would have let their people grow and scale their teams, they would not be in their current predicament. Now - Sezzle has morphed from a promising Fintech to another start-up statistic.
