A rewarding place to work

Pros

Being able to make a difference in the lives of others. Working in a kid-friendly and pet-friendly environment (employees can bring pets and kids to the office; on school holidays this is a great benefit for working parents who would otherwise have to pay someone or take the day off). Having daily group exercise (every morning and afternoon employees are encouraged to participate in a 10 to 15 minute structured exercise program). Silverado encourages personal and professional development and provides programs for leadership development.

Cons

Noise: The building facility itself it not well sound proofed, and especially for those working in the cubicles the noise can be distracting.

Pros

Great people to work with, culture driven, and family oriented.Pet friendly too. Very satisfying because you can make a difference in people's life's.

Cons

Benefits could be a lot better, and everyone should have an honest annual review in a timely fashion.

Pros

Company has great standards of care for seniors, serves excellent food, great nursing staff, and has full time options with insurance. Many people there, including the head administrator of the time of this review, are caring, wonderful people.

Cons

Some lower administrative staffing is poor quality and unprofessional, staff back stabs and talks dirt about everyone, some supervisors are atrocious. Unfortunately, my experience here was of very poor quality. Within a month my supervisor was singling me out, treating other employees with favor, and borderline harassment. Examples: Berating me over the phone for ten minutes off duty, frequent snide/rude comments, unprofessional way of handling mistakes, anger management, and over all poor quality treatment. My supervisor is a horrible manager, arrogant, controlling and discourages those who work with them instead of encouraging them to be better employees. Enjoys hearing what he wants instead of what you are saying. It was a very personal attack due to his dislike of me. Despite multiple attempts to work out the differences, I was ultimately set up to fail. My supervisor made no attempt to have a better working relationship with me. As long as you do not work for the recreation/house keeping/administrative department, this location is wonderful to work for. (Yes, your left with CNA/Nursing/Kitchen staff) I love the residents, and had many good working relationships here. My review is based purely on the department I worked for. Until that is sorted out - I do not recommend working for these departments.
