Pros

The sheer number of raw talent and hardworking people at this company is amazing. The tech is cool and will change the world from remote opps to automated fights. Skydio is a game changer in every industry. Certain teams work 60-80 hour weeks easily and never complain. That is the type of dedication any small company like Skydio would need for success. Amazing customer success and customer support teams. Although Skydio’s principals state, “We will not put weapons on our drones and will oppose fully autonomous lethal weapons systems. Our development process is focused on providing full automation, but we believe lethal weapons should not be fully automated.” Certain teams in the company don’t abide by it which is really good for global militaries and protecting various interests.

Cons

Information management and data flow is not transparent and often information is restricted or blocked from reaching the correct decision makers/executives or even the CEO by various middle managers (who at times do not even share information with each other). Key leadership positions in the company are filled by incompetent folks who objectively lack the expertise, experience, and capability to do the jobs well. It’s evident when they constantly ask others how to their job, or what should they be doing, or giving such bad guidance resulting in teammates losing faith and confidence. The products are awesome when they work.

Pros

One of the best products I've ever seen. The technology is super exciting, there's nothing else like it in the market today. The technology presents countless use cases to make industry and military operation safer. This technology could definitely save lives and transform how business is done.

Cons

Extremely immature business, very poor internal structure, difficulties with: logistics, operations, manufacturing, support. Skydio grew too fast and didn't focus on actually building out the foundational process that businesses need to survive. Most of the internal tracking is run on google sheets. Delivery of purchased software is entirely manual. Company leadership doesn't take employee experience into consideration. Employees are expected to work extreme hours and continually take on more work, but compensation isn't raised equivalently. In addition to that, the preference is for employees to take on additional manual tasks instead of using software to automate tasks. The company is highly focused on customer acquisition, but puts little effort into customer retention. Skydio doesn't use it's historical data to project customer lifetime value, they only see the value in marketing and selling to new customers. As a company that has clear genius behind it (the only company in the world to invent autonomous flying robots with an unparalleled level of sophistication) it is incredibly surprising to see how poorly the sausage is made. How do you invent autonomous flying systems but not use standard business automations to run your company?

Pros

Product is incredible, if you like drones. People will think your job is cool.

Cons

Only the Federal Team and SLED Team seem to be holding up well. However, if you're considering a role in the channel or enterprise sectors, proceed with caution. The leadership there is utterly clueless and lacking in experience, which is painfully evident. The absurdly high quotas they assign are nothing short of a joke, unless you're the unfortunate punchline working under them. Employee morale is disregarded entirely, with dismissals happening without any semblance of due process. They deceive you about average performance levels, luring you in only to yank the ground from beneath your feet once you're onboard. Trust me, there are plenty of better opportunities out there. This place is a total disaster in every imaginable aspect. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.
