Pros

The schedule from 5am to 1:30pm was working great for me. They have free snacks in the kitchen.

Cons

They do not offer to match 401k contributions. Direct management was a nightmare, they treat employees like robots, write them up for any irrelevant, childish reason. We had daily goals on amount of approved loans, to the point that manager discouraged us from using the restroom, but called us away from our desk for impromptu meetings for every little stupid reason.

I’m disappointed to hear that your experience was not more positive when you were here. This is not the type of work environment we want here at SoFi. Thank you for your feedback. We are actively researching a company match for our 401(k), while we maintain our rich benefit offerings (full medical/dental/vision benefits with no premium costs passed to employees, $200/month contribution to employee student loans, $12/day to cover lunch costs, tuition reimbursement, etc.). I welcome the opportunity to connect with you directly to learn more about your experience and how we can improve. You can reach me at apearson@sofi.org. – A. Pearson, HR Business Partner

Pros

Great Benefits, Free lunch and snacks, nice office

Cons

The SoFi culture is terrible. SoFi promotes a culture of back-stabbing and throwing peers under the bus. The philosophy of "others must fail in order for me to succeed" seems to be prevalent, especially in the call center. There is a complete lack of leadership that starts at the executive level and is especially visible at the Director/Manager levels. They preach the need to provide top notch customer service for members (this is the right thing to do) and implement policies and metrics that don't encourage helping members in the slightest (this is the wrong thing to do.) Although I don't know accurate employee turnover rates it has to be in the 100%-150% range. This is due to a burn out culture, lack of employee appreciation, poor management, and an HR department that would prefer to act first and ask questions later. This could be an excellent company. Unfortunately during my tenure, it was not.

Pros

A huge amount of potential.

Cons

Everyone is competing for resources, very rarely have shared goals or incentives which make it next to impossible to move things forward. Culture has no ownership or accountability and this mindset is prevalent in leadership on down. Rudderless.
