Pros

They let you handle your book of business how you see fit, and if your methods aren't working, they coach you to help you be more successful. They have a great record of promoting from within, and your boss is bound to be someone who excelled at your job and can assist you.

Cons

There's a lot to learn at first, and the company is in the midst of overhauling itself to be more competitive in growing market segments, so there are growing pains occasionally.

Cons

I have hesitated to post my story in an effort to avoid anyone from readers judging my post as just another complaint. However I believe my experience with Softchoice is one that needs to be made known in order to avoid such circumstances from repeating. I was in Inside Sales for about six months of training. Very early in my time there I was given the enormous responsibility of coverage for several reps while they were out of office, handling their inboxes, dealing with outbounds and keeping customers happy. It was a challenge but I did well and keep business as usual. And I continued to provide account coverage for other reps throughout my time there. As a rookie, anytime a mistake was made, I would go directly to that rep invovled or my superiors for input, advice and feedback so I could improve, which I did. Throughout my whole experience I enjoyed positive rapport with most in the office and throughout the company, especially customers. To my shock, I was let go suddenly, at the end of a work day unfortunately, by my onboarding coach. During the exit meeting it came to light that his decision was a personal one and NOT one of consensus from the people I worked with most often including my mentor. I was denied access to the restroom to compose myself, as well as to my belongings- they were shipped to me instead of me picking up my desk with dignity. It was so unprofessional that whoever is new at Softchoice deserves to know that reputation with your superiors is valued higher than your quality of work or rapport with others. I caution you to know that there is a lack of leadership, despite the fact that they claim to be "all about their peeps".

most disappointing place to work

Pros

If your desperate for a job and have no experience, they will hire you. You will also qualify for low-income housing so you can have assistance from the government if that's your thing.

Cons

toxic, manipulative, selfish leadership starting all the way up with the CEO down. life-sucking and absuive work-life balance. HR does NOT care about the employees, they even go as far as lying to minimize and manipulate employees to make them think it's their fault and not the companies. There is no ownership from leadership yet individual contributors are made to feel like everything that goes wrong is on them. Management makes racial, sexist, insensitive comments and there have never been any consequences. That was just the culture... moving on to the business. Plans are not set up to be fair, limiting success and earning potential(as if you weren't already making close to minimum wage). There is no clear payment structure or breakdown of backend processes meaning you have no reference of how you are paid and considering a lot of resources are hired with no previous experience out of desperation, there is so much room for human error you'll never know how to find, which I would say is on purpose. This place has a "sweatshop" mentality. The bad outweighs the good at this company which is incredibly disappointing that places like this still exist.
