Pros

they finally started bringing in some people that our doing everything they can to change things but they get squished like a bug at every level from the CEO a narcissist that only hires his friends from previous companies blaming people is his leadership style unless you consider changing decisions a priority he sits in a glass house right by the front door and watches people come and go and is to busy to acknowledge all of us that our bending over backwards to help sonar source grow he is so disconnected that when we have office lunches he jumps to the front of the line bypassing us that our waiting patiently to get food he loves to hear himself talk to and at the xmas party stopped everybody from having fun to ramble on about how important he was

Cons

if you’re going to send out a program rewarding work why make it seem like to get the bonus if you don’t support him their will be consequences whyyyyy cant you appreciate everyone and say thank you and have a good holiday their is definitely a disconnect between the CEO and his minions i am in sales and i’m embarrassed even though the wages our high, and the commissions our really solid if i am being honest, it’s just not worth it

Thank you for your candid feedback. We acknowledge your concerns regarding our leadership culture and the communication of our internal initiatives. We are currently working to bridge the gap between our rapid organizational growth and our leadership accessibility to ensure every team member feels seen and valued. Furthermore, we want to clarify that our reward and wellness programs are intended solely as a gesture of appreciation for our team's hard work; we are committed to ensuring that future program rollouts are framed with the clarity and gratitude our employees deserve. Your feedback is a vital part of our effort to build a more inclusive and professional environment at Sonar.

Pros

HR spends significant time and effort posting positive reviews to inflate this brand sentiment above 2/5 They generally do a great job hiring capable/talented good people on the ground, as individual contributors.

Cons

Sonar’s public image is carefully curated. The internal reality is not. The company recruits aggressively, particularly in sales, using polished narratives about growth, opportunity, and support. Once you join, it becomes obvious that those narratives are aspirational at best and misleading at worst. New hires are routinely placed into small 'territories' and account sets burdened with recent longterm contracts, heavy churn, prior failures, or unrealistic expectations, conditions that materially undermine the ability to succeed from day one. This is not a question of effort or skill. It’s a structural problem that leadership either fails to understand or chooses not to address. What’s most concerning is the lack of transparency. Account history, true pipeline health, and the reasoning behind territory assignments are not clearly disclosed upfront. Only after you are fully committed do the realities emerge, at which point accountability quietly shifts from leadership decisions to individual performance. When employees raise valid concerns, the response pattern is consistent: deflection, minimization, or procedural stalling. There is little evidence of introspection or course correction. Instead, the culture rewards compliance and silence over honesty and improvement. Management appears far more invested in preserving the appearance of momentum than in building sustainable systems that enable people to win. This creates a revolving door of talent now more than ever before, particularly in revenue roles, where failure is individualized and systemic issues are ignored. Sonar does not simply struggle with execution; it struggles with ownership. Responsibility flows downward, credit flows upward, and inconvenient feedback disappears into the void. If you are considering joining Sonar, proceed with extreme caution. Ask for detailed, written clarity on territory composition, historical churn, quota rationale, and how often roles or compensation structures change. If those answers are vague, delayed, or framed as “not how we do things here,” take that as the warning it is. This is a company that talks about empowerment but operates on disposability.

Thank you for providing such detailed feedback regarding our sales operations and territory management. We recognize that transparency in account history and quota rationale is essential for setting our teams up for success. To address these concerns, we are currently formalizing our sales governance and performance management protocols to ensure that territory assignments and expectations are data-driven, objective, and clearly communicated. We are committed to moving away from legacy practices toward a more predictable and sustainable framework as part of our journey. We appreciate your insights as they help us identify critical areas for improvement.

Pros

There is a 5 word minimum.

Cons

A once great and unique company ruined by greedy and pretentious upper management. Original People Team that laid out foundation of healthy collaboration has been gutted and replaced with manipulative cookie cutter tactics you’ll find at any other tech company…except where Sonar really shines is its blatant disregard for improving employee sentiment! Aggressive micromanagement, fear mongering, and extremely reactive decisions that only temporarily resolve long-running issues. In terms of their products, they are extremely late in the AI game while competitors rapidly outpace them. Even in this current job market, I would warn anyone and everyone to steer far away from here. The ongoing chain of poor reviews over the last few years signal this loud and clear. Most recent positive reviews were most likely requested by Leadership.

We are currently implementing new, standardized frameworks for performance and compensation to ensure greater transparency and fairness across the organization and better mechanisms so that employees can see tangible action on their feedback. We recognize that periods of rapid change can be challenging, our focus remains on building a sustainable, high-performing culture that supports our teams.
