They will promote people into new positions.

Cons

Too much work. Always on call every weekend, evening, and holiday. New things are taken on regularly without consideration of workload, or if an existing process/system needs improvement.

The benefits (time off, medical, dental etc) are decent enough

Cons

It will suck out your soul, and it's a black hole with no hope of moving up unless you know the right people. The turnover rate is pretty high, you'll often see the same positions open
