Pros

+Excellent medical insurance and rates. +Excellent retirement program (401k, 401a). +Competitive pay, salary raises/bonuses, and substantial amount of overtime (OT).

Cons

-Terrible leadership and management. -Awful communication between leadership and employees. -Employees are often overworked due to expansion projects for new transit sites, limited personnel, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased to be recognized for our commitment to the well-being of our employees, including their health and financial security (we do offer a 401a and 457b in lieu of 401k). We are sorry to hear about issues with communication and workload. With one of the largest capital program expansions in the U.S. underway, we are experiencing some growing pains! Our HR team would love to hear more of your feedback. Please feel free to reach out any time.

Growing Pains

Pros

GREAT health insurance and leave benefits.

Cons

Everyone needs to sign off on everything at every step of the process. The agency never really right-sized themselves after they started growing so fast and they weren't ready for so many new people-- don't expect much training or guidance on your job, and expect everyone else around you to also be new.

Pros

As the Receptionist, I get to see and, in a small way, work with people from every department here at Sound Transit. Everyone is busy! Still everyone takes time to be courteous and kind, with the Reception Desk as well as any of the general public passing by. The company is on the rise, so there are years of opportunity and work ahead of us. Overall there is a culture of love and respect, both for the work and for the people, and a spirit and sense of drive, as we are the future.

Cons

The only "Con" is all the hate we get from everyone. But seriously we are a public agency, so not only is the scrutiny expected, it is totally necessary. It makes us stronger and hopefully better, as some of it is not hate but well-intentioned constructive criticism. Anyway I am all about customer service, so I take all of the opinions given to the Desk and try to make people happy, anyway. So I really don't see any cons to this job, at least from the perspective of Receptionist.
