Pros
Great work/life balance. Employees definitely work with one another to foster team work in achieving the desired results and goals. Experience to see how a regional transit agency operates. While the agency is definitely growing across the operating footprint, it is still small enough to see the big picture. There aren't too many organizations out there were the CEO knows each employees name and isn't afraid to stop and say hello.
Cons
Having never worked in a government setting I found that it was difficult at first to understand how a government agency operates. Teamwork needs to be built and encouraged from the top - down. There are "silos" within the organization which need to be dismantled.
