Not a good company.

Pros

There are a few really good managers who care about the facility and employee and resident happiness. The residents are the highlight of the job.

Cons

The executive director is hypocritical and doesn’t care about the employees or the residents one bit. She makes rules but doesn’t have to follow any of them because she is above us. Poor pay unless you’re the ED or work in corporate. They only care about taking the residents’ money.

Pros

The resident and family members. They make it worth putting up with the management.

Cons

The managers couldn’t get much worse. The ED of our community is unprofessional and unstable. We were recently reprimanded when a long term employee walked out after receiving an infraction. I’ve never been absolutely screamed at like that and to have that delivered by the ED was shocking. The managers asked us why employees are leaving in large numbers and one employee made the mistake of believing they really wanted to know. That employee was quickly shut down and accused of lying. The managers treat us like we are worthless. You do not want to work for a company that does NOT have your best interest in mind and practice. This used to be such a great place to work but the ED is cruel, paranoid and down right horrible to work for. Anyone worth having is leaving and for less money too. I think that speaks volumes.
