Stagnant due to high turnover

Pros

High turnover means you meet a lot of people. Management is so confused that there is a lot of flexibility to do what you want. Unlimited travel budget to go internationally between offices.

Cons

No real culture or diversity. Treat remote employees as lesser than in office. HR is a nightmare, a CPO was hired to basically just send out survey's and ignore the results. We haven't heard from him in months other than content-less emails every few months. Inept executive team who fire the few quality leaders that were there.

Low Morale, High Turnover

Business Outlook

Pros

Some managers are really great and will protect you from upper management.

Cons

E staff is incredibly out of touch with employees. They consistently are opaque, condescending, and communicate in ways that are dishonest and manipulative, The husband-wife duo at the helm keeps giving themselves stock bonuses and the wife sends bizarre lengthy email "updates" to the company that contain things like how they just got back from European vacations and how difficult they've found getting childcare is (how tone deaf when they make SO MUCH money!). One VP bluntly said during a (weird and uncomfortable) holiday party speech that long hours and working weekends was "not going to stop." They pay below industry standards, don't match 401ks, push employees to go back to in-office, won't give cost of living adjustments until you've worked there two years, give you worthless stock options to avoid paying you more upfront, the list goes on. People work here because you get to do stuff with satellites, and they leave once they realize they do all the real work just to be treated poorly.

Leadership is severely lacking

Business Outlook

Pros

Most colleagues are very talented and enjoyable to work with. Writing code that runs in space is a rare and exciting opportunity. Good work-life balance.

Cons

We have been required (forced) to work in the office during COVID 3 days per week. Fully remote executives are the ones that make the decisions about when everyone else has to go into the office. Compensation is not competitive. Raises and cost of living can only happen every 2 years. There are very few quality leaders throughout the entire organization. Most equity "incentives" are worth nothing and are negative right now. The company is fully owned by Peter (CEO) and Theresa (COO) Platzer.
