Pros

Location, an unused bowling alley. A few good people

Cons

Training is horrible and no direction at all. A bunch of college kids that drink all day everyday. A trainer that worries about what girls he can chase and both owners are terrible humans. One walks around with his face in his phone and won’t even say thank you for holding the door. The other one has 2 or 3 personalities. He loves to bully you and let you know how well he does. They think that they are above everyone there and you can’t go to them for anything. They downgrade the women in there and you are constantly looked down on. I would be shocked if there is not a lawsuit from the shadiness that happens there. I wish I would of done my research before accepting the job. My advise to anyone applying run fast and far away from this place. Everyone walks around telling you how much they hate the job and how they are treated. Employees there are taken advantage of and expected to work 24/7. If you don’t then you are going to get a horrible email or talking to from the owner.

Pros

There are a lot of great employees there. Great location and top notch office. There is potential for good money if you don't want to have a life.

Cons

The negative comments that have been left by others are very true. The owners will sit at their desk on the floor and talk bad about other employees. They don't care about work/ life balance. You need to be at your job or working 24/7. They are lucky they don't have to pay salary employees overtime, because if it was up to them they would have you there for 13+ hours a day. Management there does not believe in the 8-5 or 8-6 even. There is no room for advancement and there is VERY HIGH turnover.

Pros

Health insurance is decent. Some truly fantastic people work there.

Cons

Most of the other people are fresh out of college so those kids are annoying. I've worked at another freight brokerage and it must just be the industry but to get ahead, you have to take the good accounts from departed coworkers, hitting commission on your own is near impossible. That's how all the longer-tenured reps who are actually making good money got there; they just got accounts from other reps who've left. I was there for two years and not a single person in that two years hit their commission. Not saying it's Spot's fault but it's the industry; there is absolutely no loyalty with your customers. As a broker, you're completely expendable. If they find someone who's $5 cheaper, they'll drop you like a hot rock. This job is really only for kids right out of college, if you've worked anywhere else you'll be quickly frustrated. At least in the last few years, very difficult to hit commissions or move up. Management sees Spot as a cool, laid-back place to work but it's anything but. You are on-call 24/7, literally. There's a bowling alley for some reason but it's for show, no one uses it.
