Pros

Remote work, work/life balance, good benefits

Cons

No annual cost of living, inflation, market adjustment to salary, difficult and nearly impossible to move internal, a lot of talk around career development but zero structure in place to walk the walk, you only receive an adjustment to your salary IF you're promoted, and low salaries across the board in comparison to competitors and the general workforce market. Sprout likes to flaunt their "best place to work" awards and that they're a career destination, but for who? In my tenure at Sprout I have been unable to move laterally and/or vertically after continuing to advocate for myself and my team.

Pros

None to share at the moment

Cons

+1 to the review cautioning against all the positivity - there's no way they are real. I've tried to post reviews multiple times and they somehow haven't shown up. management is awful and the salaries and raises are so far from competitive. there's no trust of employees, resulting in micro-managing from people who are not qualified or trained to be managers. no career opportunities or development at all. microaggressions run rampant

Pros

Product: The product is best-in-class and outshines the competition. People: Very smart colleagues that do their best to improve the company. R&R days

Cons

Pay: Sprout’s lack of annual pay increases has been called out in a number of reviews and over time it creates a disparity between your market value and what you actually make. The more time you spend at the company the less you make compared to those at your level at other companies. Loyalty isn’t rewarded in any way beyond a special sweatshirt or backpack. Recognition and promotions: Promotions and raises are based on a review from your manager that is brought to a calibration process between the senior leaders of the department, senior leaders that most individuals in that department won't interface with. Since there is a lack of recognition from the leaders on the team, employees have to rely on overly promoting themselves internally to get in front of those leaders and to get a promotion or raise. That creates a very political and competitive culture. Feedback: Even though feedback is said to be critical at Sprout, it’s hard to get meaningful feedback outside the annual review process. There's a lack of information shared from the top down. Info on where the company is going, how we're getting there, and changes that are made to face new challenges. This used to be shared during monthly all-hands or internal emails, but all hands have been moved to quarterly and there are rarely email updates that keep employees up to date.
