Not what it used to be!

Pros

There are some very bright, cool people who work here.

Cons

Couldn't agree more with the most recent reviews. Sprout used to be a great place to work but unfortunately, it's not anymore. Pay is incredibly low for the industry, bottom 20%: no annual raises, false promises, and rapid favoritism. It doesn't matter if you are a top performer, it does not get rewarded. It seems like silent layoffs keep happening and incredible employees are being let go, but it's being hidden to protect their image. Top performers are leaving to other organizations that will actually pay their employees what they are worth. My advice, find yourself a company that will actually pay you what you are valued at and actually wants to see you move up the ladder.

Pros

Most of the people who work here are genuinely decent people, though they allow bullies in senior management.

Cons

Very guarded management. they keep things very close to the vest and often times do not communicate changes they make. Changes are whimsical and usually based on the personal feelings of a few people in the old guard, whom wields incredible power. Most people here do not work very hard and they take pride in this as a company promotes this work ethic. It is frustrating to work with people who don't do their end. Upper management promotes empathy, but only empathy for them, which is odd. My experience was that they did not care about the employee experience, just the experience of a few people. They do not have their thump on what is going on inside their own company. There are some really bad people here in senior management. You should steer clear of working here.

Pros

The officers and facility are beautiful, the perks are amazing and the health insurance is top-tier.

Cons

this company is a complete farce when it comes to putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to their company culture. They claim to champion a variety of progressive social issues, but when the rubber meets the road, they refuse to act on those principles, or acknowledge these values when it comes to their employees - if you need any accommodation, whether it be for a death, a violent accident or anything else, or have any personal/life issues, they are not accommodating or understanding whatsoever. They claim to be an extremely diverse company, but there is no semblance of this once you are initiated. It feels like a cult for rich white people, and once you have shown that you are not in their club, they’ll show you the door without even looking you in the eyes as they fire you. They actually won’t even stay in the room, or provide you with any of your performance reviews, and threaten you with litigation for asking for them, or for seeking another position in the same industry. in their severance documents, they even demand that you get their approval BEFORE you apply for ANY job you seek for the next 10 years after you’ve been fired. If you have a lawyer look over this contract, they will tell you that it’s unenforceable, but that does not stop Sprout from trying to intimidate their queer and black employees to get what they want and silence them.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that this was how your time at Sprout felt. That’s not the kind of experience we want anyone to walk away with. We’re proud of the values we hold ourselves to: integrity, equity, and support—and we know how important it is that those values show up in the day-to-day, not just in words. We have established processes in place to support employees through difficult moments and transitions, and we strive to approach those situations with care and respect. We appreciate your feedback and will continue listening, learning, and working to ensure every employee feels seen, supported, and treated with dignity.
