Demanding month-end close, outdated systems, poor work-life balance

Embrace entry-level accountants Accounting staff and accounting managers are friendly and easy to work with Hospital is focused on exceptional patient care Flexible shift options outside of month-end close

Cons

Compensation IS NOT competitive Upper management is difficult - In the time I worked there, we never personally met the CFOs or Controllers of the hospitals! Poor work-life balance, especially during month-end close Paper-based environment with outdated systems Required to use personal PTO days for ANY holiday the department is closed (including Christmas)

Sign-on bonuses, good cafeteria food, night shift crew was great, shift differential is high

Cons

Administration is consistently changing so there's no real structure, supervisors threaten you if you don't pick up overtime when units are busy, management plays favorites and subconsciously forms nurses into cliques.

Pros

Flexible schedule, great coworkers, family/team environment. Free to park in the parking garage. Has a waterfall in the lobby. Revolving door makes coming to work easy.

Cons

HCA ownership. Non-competitive with pay (wages in Austin are low but going across the street to Seton will make you several dollars an hour more). Profit based healthcare mentality with heavy emphasis on "customer service".
