Pros

Stoel provided the opportunity to take on projects that weren't in the job description. If something interested you and it could benefit the law firm, it was supported.

Cons

One major downfall is the lack of confidence and innovation from attorneys. Although a "staff member" was able to explore new ideas, etc. it was very unlikely that an attorney would engage in this information.

Pros

The majority of the lawyers are truly fine people and brilliant lawyers. I feel fortunate to work with such an intelligent and hardworking group. The firm is small, which is nice. You get to work with a lot of different people. The clients are absolutely amazing and make coming to work every day worthwhile.

Cons

Ten people (or so) make all of the money. All management decisions revolve around this dependency and are aligned with it. This alignment sometimes because misaligned especially when it comes to decisions regarding the administrative staff. The staff are often paid lip-service or left hanging when important decisions need to be made. If the decisions involve staff and money, it can be like pulling teeth to push something forward. It can be very frustrating.
